The Final Fantasy Vii Remake Is Pretty But Will It Be Successful

On May 9, 2019, the Final Fantasy VII Remake was brought back to life through Sony’s State of Play stream, which showcased the best and brightest of what to expect in the near future. Additional news of the project has been desired by fans ever since the first reveal during the PlayStation Experience in 2015. After four years of hardly any news, we now have an idea of what the game will look and feel like, but the overall question remains: Will the game be worth the wait?...

The Last Guardian Developer Shares What Looks Like Concept Art Of Its Newest Title

The Last Guardian developer genDesign seems to have shared new concept art of its latest project, as displayed through an official tweet and on its website (via Twinfinite). The auteur’s games are known to employ “design by subtraction.” Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian take place in muted, remote, fantastical worlds with dark narrative themes. However, the new images shared by genDesign seem to be diametrically opposed to the team’s previous work....

The Lord Of The Rings Gollum Release Date Screenshots And Details

Daedalic Entertainment has confirmed they are actively working on a next-gen title known as The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. First off, it sounds like the team plans on designing Gollum as a stealth-based action title. While they stop short of detailing the title’s gameplay, the basic idea is that you’ll sneak around various Middle-Earth locales as the game’s titular protagonist. Considering that this is Gollum we’re talking about, we highly doubt that there will be quite as much action in this game as we see in titles like the Batman Arkham series....

The Marvel Movies Debrief Iron Man 3 Recap Legacy And Mcu Connections

This article contains spoilers for Iron Man 3 and the wider MCU. Following up The Avengers was always going to be a tricky job, but Iron Man 3 was more than up to the job. Although its audacious plot twist and hyper-irreverent tone sharply divided fans, director Shane Black (who’d previously worked with Robert Downey Jr. on Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) and writer Drew Pearce turned out an idiosyncratic, genre-savvy script that blew away any lingering cobwebs that remained around the franchise following Iron Man 2....

The New Tamarin Trailer Shows Off More Polished Cute Platforming

You might be wondering exactly what kind of animal that cute little furball is bouncing around in the trailer below. That, my friends, is a tamarin, a small monkey found in the forests of South America. Tamarin the game, though, is a new IP in development from Chamelon Games. You might not immediately recognize the studio unless you’ve been following along with the small releases of information and gameplay. The studio is made up of a handful of ex-Rare employees, carving out a nice veteran staff of devs....

The Next Dungeons Dragons Book Is A Critical Role Setting Campaign

Early fan reaction on message boards has been mixed. Naturally this will be an exciting release for Critical Role fans. Those who want nothing to do with the series were disappointed by the initial reveal. Rather than do a crossover with a popular show, they would rather see Wizards of the Coast bring back one of its older settings. As time goes on, though, commenters are beginning to see the exciting prospects this book will bring....

The Next Need For Speed May Be Revealed This Week

It’s been a hot minute since the last game in the Need for Speed series was released, and the timing feels right for the classic racing franchise to roar back. Earlier in 2022, it was confirmed that the next Need for Speed game was in development at Criterion Games, the team behind Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010) and Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012). The studio announced it was teaming up with Codemasters Cheshire, the team behind Dirt 5....

The Nicest Badass Video Game Characters

Ion Fury is a blast from the past: a retro-styled FPS with fast action and extreme violence. However, it also brings back another element from those old school shooters, which is the return of the foul-mouthed, rather mean-spirited protagonist. Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison is cut from the same cloth as heroes like Duke Nukem, and while they definitely can be pretty awesome, they’re not necessarily the type of people you’d actually want to hang out with after they saved your lives....

The Outer Worlds Is Enhanced On Xbox One X But Not Ps4 Pro

Update: Publisher Private Division has confirmed that The Outer Worlds will receive PS4 Pro support. The game will upscale to 4K from 1440p for users with the enhanced console. The original story can be found below. Sorry PS4 Pro players, it looks like Microsoft wins this round with a 4K exclusivity on the Xbox One and PC for The Outer Worlds. Obsidian’s “Fallout: New Vegas in space” is a tour de force for the developer following its crippling financial crisis in 2012, soon thereafter being acquired by Microsoft in 2018....

The Outsider Episode 5 Review Tear Drinker

This The Outsider review contains spoilers. The Outsider Episode 5 In a car conversation, after repeating something that happened to his grandmother during World War II, Yunis (Yul Vazquez) comments to Ralph (Ben Mendelsohn), “Dreams are messages, bro.” Throughout the series, dreams have played an important role in just how whatever spirit that’s attacking Cherokee City communicates. Jessa’s dreams of the man who kind of looks like her dad allowed her to pass messages to Ralph, and now other people in Ralph’s orbit are having dreams of their own, particularly Jeannie (Mare Winningham)....

The State Of Resident Evil In 2019

It is without a doubt that Resident Evil remains one of Capcom’s most valuable video game franchises ever since its debut back in 1996. In its 23-year history, Resident Evil has seen its fair share of success and let-downs. The beginning of the franchise back in the ’90s established its authority in the survival-horror genre. However, the franchise had a bit of an identity crisis in its recent years when Capcom transformed Resident Evil from survival-horror to a somewhat action-oriented series....

The Super Street Fighter Gift Guide

Capcom first released Street Fighter in arcades back in 1987, where players could play as Ryu in an international martial arts tournament. Capcom then popularized our modern style of one-on-one fighters with the incredibly popular release of the sequel Street Fighter II in 1992. The sequel was the first game to allow players to choose from a number of fighters, which has become a staple in similar games. Many gamers will recognize Street Fighter II and it’s various re-releases as one of their first fighting games, which has led to years of nostalgic feelings towards the franchise, which has spawned numerous sequels and spin-off games and moved into other mediums with animated series, comic books, and live-action films....

The Survivalists Is Team 17 S Survival Themed Escapists Follow Up

Team 17 has announced The Survivalists, a survival-themed spin-off from The Escapists series. While The Escapists has you attempting to escape, The Survivalists is all about… well, it’s right there in the name. It’s set in the same universe and shares some mechanics, but The Survivalists will apparently be a very different experience. In the manner of so many survival games, you’ll find yourself washed up far from civilization. It’s up to you to gather resources, build fortifications, and craft objects to ensure your continued existence....

The Twilight Zone Season 2 Episode 4 Review Ovation

This The Twilight Zone review contains spoilers. The Twilight Zone Season 2 Episode 4 One of my favorite episodes of the original Twilight Zone is called “A Nice Place to Visit.” It’s about a dirty rotten gambler who finds himself in heaven, only to discover that he’s actually in hell. The Umbrella Academy The Big Chill With Superpowers

The Umbrella Academy is not your average comic book adaptation. Instead of focusing on superheroes in their heyday, the series takes a look at an adopted family bred to be a superteam who instead became fractured and lost in their adulthood. Executive producer Jeff King, who is known for his work with DC’s Convergence miniseries and who has produced for shows like White Collar, Continuum, and Blindspot, sees the Netflix series as a chance for viewers to connect with the characters as they look back on a troubled life before conquering an unknown future… or lack thereof....

The Umbrella Academy Villains Explained

The following contains spoilers for The Umbrella Academy Season 1 on Netflix and The Umbrella Academy comic series. The Umbrella Academy was always going to lose some stuff in translation from comic book to Netflix’s servers. Luther’s giant blue Martian gorilla body probably wasn’t going to make it. But one thing that seemed for sure is the villain or villains of the piece would remain the same. That ultimately wasn’t the case as The Umbrella Academy did some re-imaginings and some moving around of the comic’s villains to better suit the TV show’s needs....
