For the past few years, Marvel has stepped away from home console video games and instead focused on mobile games instead. That is all set to change in September, though, with Insomniac’s Spider-Man on the PS4 and Square Enix’s untitled Avengers game which has yet to be given a release date. Maybe it was because Marvel saw more value in free-to-play mobile titles instead of full-on games, or maybe it was because, throughout the years, they’ve tapped the well dry on what could be done for a console Marvel game....

It’s 1 April once again which can only mean one thing, silly press releases and game ideas. We’ll get things kicked off and continue to add new entries as the japes appear over the next 24 hours. Since the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, players have been experimenting with brand new weapons and attachments. The AK-74U was a powerful weapon which featured in both the alpha, and beta versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. However, the AK-74U was nerfed multiple times as players realized it was too powerful. Since the launch of the full game, the weapon has become an underrated contender in the game....

The highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season Four Reloaded update has arrived. There’s now a bunch of new content for both multiplayer and the Zombies mode. In typical Call of Duty fashion, the mid-season update includes a new weapon. This time, the Black Ops Cold War submachine gun category has a new addition in the form of the OTs 9. The OTs 9 is already a powerful weapon in close-quarter engagements....

Final Fantasy 7 is one of the games that most people will quickly call out as their favorite in the series, and it’s certainly the most recognized of all of the games. Epic Games is holding a showcase this Thursday, February 11, where it will show off new announcements, gameplay, and extended looks of the games coming to the Epic Games Store later this year. The Spring Showcase also marks the beginning of a two-week long sale, which will see discounts on some popular titles. The Epic Games Showcase will premiere on Twitch at 11 AM ET. And that is about everything Epic Games has decided to share about the showcase....

Team 17 and Mouldy Toof have released a brand new multiplayer trailer for The Escapists 2, showing the U.S.S Anomaly, the new home for interstellar inmates. Designed as a solution to overcrowding of prisons on Earth, the U.S.S Anomaly is the ultimate test of escaping prowess. The floating prison comes complete with robotic guards (and dogs!), jet packs and an A.I. Warden. The Escapists 2 is the upcoming sequel to the multi-million selling, award-winning sandbox prison-escape game which will include, in a first for the series, drop in/drop out play for up to four players in both local and online play....

2K Sports has released the first trailer for NBA 2K18, and it looks pretty darn good. The latest instalment of the NBA series of games improves the detail on every level, right down to perfectly crafted armpit hair and wrinkles on elbows. It even has detailed tattoos, stretch marks and scars. The players now look and move closer to the real thing than even before. At least, that’s what 2K will probably have you believe anyway....

The Letter for the King is a Netflix fantasy offering that, in the recent wake of The Witcher’s popularity, seems so abundantly tailor-made for transitional viewing that it won’t require any of its famed algorithms for a suggestion. Much like The Witcher, Netflix’s The Letter for the King is based on a book, in this case key female fantasy writer Tonke Dragt’s 1962 Dutch novel, De brief voor de Koning, an acclaimed, million-plus-selling quasi-medieval story about a young squire who becomes entrusted with the delivery of the titular memo, on which the fate of the entire kingdom hangs....

I respect the direction developer Ubisoft has taken with the DLC for Immortals Fenyx Rising. It’s expected these days to view story DLC as “what you already played, but a bit more.” The DLC for Immortals Fenyx Rising has offered to take you back to its world, sure, but often by providing something completely distinct each time. Myths of the Eastern Realm introduced a new protagonist in a story inspired by Chinese myth....

Just when critics who are generally down on the genre might be polishing up those “there is nothing new for the superhero movie to do” thinkpieces, producers Chris Miller and Phil Lord (the latter also a co-writer with co-director Rodney Rothman) have brought us Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the first full-length animated superhero film to get a theatrical release since Batman: Mask of the Phantasm way back in the relative dark ages of 1993....

Looking For An Answer Last October, I felt very alone in the world. Earlier in the year, I’d come to terms with the fact that I was trans. Nintendo has released its latest fiscal report for 2018, which includes all of its current hardware and software sales. The fiscal report has revealed that the Nintendo Switch has currently sold 22.86 million units around the world, with 111.10 million units of software sold. These numbers mean that the Nintendo Switch has outsold another Nintendo console, as the last fiscal report confirmed that the Switch had outsold the Wii U, while these new numbers reveal that the Switch has now outsold the lifetime sales of the Nintendo GameCube....

Let me tell you something about my gaming setup. I currently have my gaming PC, where I work and play games, sitting in a corner of my room. I have an HDMI cable leading from my GPU to an HD Y-splitter, where one cable leads to a monitor and another to my HDTV. Why? Because sometimes I enjoy just being able to lie back on my bed and play PC games in the most lazy-ass way I can manage....
