The Elder Scrolls Online’s year-long Dark Heart of Skyrim storyline starts in earnest with the game’s latest chapter expansion, Greymoor. For the first time in the long-running MMO, the snowy, swampy expanses of Western Skyrim are open for exploration, though this isn’t exactly the same game world fans will remember from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. According to a recent interview with Obsidian Entertainment lead designer Charles Staples conducted by USGamer, the upcoming The Outer Worlds will be foregoing the traditional crafting mechanic seen in most modern games in the genre. That may sound like a purely gameplay-focused choice, but Staples suggests that it has much more with the game’s narrative themes than it does with any actual in-game mechanics. “One of the reasons we sort of shied away from it was with all with all the corporate branding that we had,” he said when asked about the feature’s exclusion....

With regards to the PlayStation 5’s backwards compatibility, Sony has announced that the “overwhelming majority of the 4,000+ PS4 titles” will be playable on the next generation console (via PlayStation Blog). Lead architect Mark Cerny expressed how pleased he was with the prioritisation and progress of backwards compatibility with the PlayStation 5. “Once backwards compatibility is in the console, it’s in,” he said. “It’s not as if a cost-down will remove backwards compatibility like it did on PlayStation 3....

After stealthily announcing that it would be available last week, PMDG has formally released the Boeing 737-600 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The meticulously designed “Baby Boeing” features a shorter body and no winglets, which allows it to get into some smaller airfields than its larger brothers. The -600 variant of the 737 is not one that’s seen much these days. It serves as the smallest edition of what is known as the Boeing 737 Next Generation (NG) family, both by physical size and sales numbers....

Telltale Games has removed The Walking Dead: The Final Season from sale on PlayStation Network, Steam, and Xbox Marketplace. In addition, the final chapter in the zombie drama series is no longer available on GOG.com, with a statement on the website revealing that Telltale has requested a ’temporary pause’ in sales for the narrative-based adventure game. This is despite the fact that episode two of The Walking Dead: The Final Season was released just yesterday....

Nicole Maines (Royal Pains, The Trans List) will be joining CatCo in Supergirl Season 4 as Nia Nal, also known as Dreamer, the first transgender superhero on television. From her description, it sounds like she’ll be following a similar path to Kara on the show – she has a strong sense of right and wrong and a drive to use her abilities to protect others.
