The Tomorrow Children Will Not Be Free To Play On Its Relaunch

The relaunch of Q-Games’ The Tomorrow Children will see the removal of its former free-to-play model. Originally releasing on the PlayStation 4 in 2016, The Tomorrow Children had a pretty rocky start. Unable to fully realise its potential as a free-to-play town-building, Soviet Union-themed, sandbox game, Sony shut down its servers a little over a year after its launch. However, having regained the rights to the IP at the end of 2021, developer Q-Games set about relaunching The Tomorrow Children, thus giving the game a second chance....

The Witcher 15 Things You Didn T Know About Geralt

The Witcher games by CD Projekt Red are some of the best to come out this millennium (so far), and their protagonist, Geralt of Rivia, is the stoic and steadfast witcher at its helm. With three games under his belt, we’ve seen a lot of Geralt as he recovered his memories, contended with sorceresses and conspiracies, and battled against the Wild Hunt to save his surrogate daughter Ciri. However, Geralt of Rivia has a lot more to his story than what is revealed in the video games....

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Isn T An Update In Case You Were Worried

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Switch is not a basic update of the Wii U Smash Bros., but a brand new title in its own right, Nintendo has said. Speaking with USGamer at E3 this week, Nate Bihldorff, localization manager for Treehouse, confirmed that the action-packed brawler has been built from the ground-up for the Big N’s hybrid console, squashing fears that it was just an updated version of the Wii U Smash Bros....

Surgeon Simulator 2 Review Anathema To Some Anesthesia For Others

Surgeon Simulator 2 is a hard game for me to score. The first game was practically a meme centered around a gameplay joke. You do a really complicated thing with extremely imprecise controls and wackiness ensues! That very much still applies here but in a much more game-like setting. Personally, I strongly disliked playing this game. But the controls are intended to be bad and accomplishing tasks is meant to be frustrating....

Take-Two is open to releasing HD remakes or remasters of its back catalogue of titles, but will only do so if the resulting games are exciting to consumers, Take-Two chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed during last night’s year-end earnings call. Remakes and remasters are “something that the labels will decide and talk about in due course,” said Zelnick. “Certainly, we wouldn’t rule it out, it will be largely an economic decision....

Tekken director and producer Katsuhiro Harada announced that Tekken 7 has sold five million copies since its launch in 2015 (via Destructoid). The game was originally released for arcades, and then came to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2017. The 25 Worst Changes To Harry Potter From The Books To The Movies

Let’s get something straight right off the bat. This article is not going to be a negative dislike-fueled diatribe against the original Harry Potter movies. I love the movies. Since I was too young to read the books on my own when the franchise became a global phenomenon, the films were my ticket into the wizarding world. I have memorized the entire first two films and large portions of the rest of the series....

The Assassin S Creed Origins Tales From The Tomb Videos Are Really Weird But Show Bayek Fighting A God

Ubisoft is throwing every marketing trick in the book at Assassin’s Creed Origins: you’ve got the serious trailers, the expensive headphones, the machine learning translation research. All just classic, classic moves. Most recently it’s put out a series of shorts that combine the new protagonist Bayek doing cool stuff and animated tomb paintings talking about him. It’s really weird, but I also don’t hate it. The clips have all been put together in a handy package so you can watch them all together now....

The Best Games Set In New York City

Just as cinema did before it, the video game industry has taken plenty of inspiration from the Big Apple. Many of the medium’s biggest hits take place throughout New York, from big-budget blockbusters to indie darlings. Given the sheer volume, it’s no surprise that the city never sleeps. Some provide picture-perfect representations of the city, while others choose instead to add their own creative twist. Whether driving frantically around the sprawling city streets or swinging carelessly above them though, the five boroughs serve as a sumptuous setting for the chaos and carnage that so often goes hand in hand with video games....

The Last Kingdom Meet The New Series 3 Characters

The thing about The Last Kingdom’s Danish warriors and their Saxon foes – they don’t live long. No sooner had we learned the correct spellings of Sigefrid and Erik than off to Valhalla they went, taking their tattoos, biceps and little beard bunches with them. It wasn’t only those two we lost in the second series, but also poor Halig and Clapa and Odda the Elder… That left a vacuum for series three, into which spilled the little lot below....

The Many Meanings Of Home In Video Games

Games like to take us places, whether it’s space, hidden jungles or a bygone version of England. As much as I love these alternate realities of the real thing and the joys of video game tourism, increasingly they’ve made me think about the home, the place in the physical world where most, if not all, our gaming actually takes place. The home, or even just home in the wider sense, seems in many ways antithetical to the stories many games tell....
