Although late author Frank Herbert would not realize it at the time, his renowned sci-fi novel Dune would play a massive role in the real-time strategy genre. The book indirectly resulted in the creation of 1992’s Dune II: The Building of a Dynasty, a game that established many of the core elements future real-time strategy games would adopt. With this history in mind, it comes as no surprise that Dune: Spice Wars, an upcoming real-time strategy game announced during The Game Awards 2021, drummed up a great deal of interest....

You ever see a list of the top Punisher villains? Probably not, because, thanks to the skill and dedication of Frank Castle, most Punisher villains tend to die very quickly in really horrible ways. The Nintendo Switch is the seventh best-selling hardware product from Nintendo, and lifetime sales have eclipsed 55.77 million since its launch in 2017. That’s an increase of 60 per cent year-on-year, according to the company’s latest financial earnings report. It states that the Switch has sold 21.03 million units in the 2019-2020 fiscal year—of this total, the Switch accounts for 14.83 million units, and the Switch Lite accounts for 6.19 million units....

Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series will get a second season, developer Telltale has confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. “When we initially announced the series in 2013, we let everyone know this would be a multi-title, multiyear partnership with HBO,” said Kevin Bruner, Telltale’s CEO and co-founder and executive producer on the Game of Thrones. “After this week’s finale, I’m pleased to officially confirm that there will be a second season of Telltale’s Game of Thrones series, and that it’s currently in development....

Temtem, the mini monster hunting MMO, got a patch that adds extras to the endgame and the feature is comparable with the Safari Zone from Pokémon Red & Blue (via GameSpot). Patch 0.5.12 adds the Saipark, which is like the Safari Zone that was first introduced in Pokémon Red & Blue in 1996. The Safari Zone is a special arena wherein the Trainer may catch Pokémon without the need for battling, which is a relief for both parties....

For some reason, an apocalyptic setting is one of the most entertaining settings that people can expose themselves to — a notion that can prove to be quite saddening if people read a bit too much into it. Movies and TV shows have utilized this setting in numerous forms, but one might argue that the best form of entertainment that has done this setting justice is video games. The sheer number of excellent video games that are situated in the post-apocalypse is quite immense....
