Developer inXile has revealed that Scottish-scented dungeon crawler The Bard’s Tale 4 will launch for PC on September 18. This also happens to be a whopping 30 years after the release of Interplay’s The Bard’s Tale 3: Thief of Fate, which came out on the Apple II and Commodore 64 in 1988. Blimey, that’s almost as old as me. inXile also developed The Bard’s Tale for PC back in 2004, although that wasn’t related to the original 1985 Tales of the Unknown, Volume I: The Bard’s Tale....

Another big Hollywood name has been added to the Borderlands movie cast, with Jack Black the latest star confirmed and will be playing the movie version of the looter shooter series’ robotic mainstay Claptrap. The film’s director Eli Roth said in a statement to Variety “I am so excited to reunite with Jack, this time in the recording booth. Claptrap is the funniest character in the game, and Jack is perfect to bring him to the big screen” while president of Lionsgate Nathan Kahne was even more forthcoming in his praise of the casting, adding “Everyone who’s ever played the game knows Jack is perfect for this part....

Sales of The Last of Us Part 1 surged last week, thanks to the launch of HBO’s new TV adaptation. Italian indie developer Studio Cima has unveiled a new hand-drawn Metroidvania called The Perfect Pencil, coming for PC and Switch. The game’s described as a mixture of Hollow Knight‘s action with the “psychological depth” of games Celeste and Limbo. You play as Jon, who finds himself trapped in a mysterious world, and sees a glow to escape. Everything in this hand-drawn world takes a surreal bent, with even John himself having the head of a camera....
