After teasing it earlier this week, Nintendo has now confirmed that Super Mario Odyssey will have co-op where the second player controls Cappy. Cappy is Mario’s hat in Super Mario Odyssey that the Italian Plumber can use to control other characters by throwing it on their heads. But in co-op, while one player is controlling Mario using a Joy-Con, player two will be invincible while acting as support. Cappy can spin into enemies and snag certain objects in the environment, allowing Super Mario to perform other actions....

Dan Houser, the co-founder and creative lead of Rockstar Games, will step away from the company come March of this year. The studio’s holding company, Take-Two Interactive, suggests that this is no cause for alarm. The news of Houser’s departure follows an “extended break” that began last spring. The move came as a bit of a shock, and Take-Two didn’t initially provide any defining details regarding the decision. All of the information provided to the public was registered by the company as part of an SEC, 8-K document filed early last week....

Target is the next retailer to publish its Black Friday plans, following Kohl’s and a Microsoft Store sneak peek last week. Target’s Black Friday plans will cover a broad range of video game products, including console bundles for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, as well as dozens of individual games. Like other retailers, Target’s Black Friday officially starts on Thanksgiving in 2019. Doors will open at 5:00 pm on Thursday, November 28....

Team Sonic Racing has managed to claim the number one spot in the UK charts, and has managed to break two records for the Sonic franchise in its first weekend on sale, it has been announced. As reported by GamesIndustry.biz from the UKIE/GfK chart data, the number one means that not only has Team Sonic Racing managed to outsell the previous series’ outing – Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed – by more than double, but it also marks the first time a Sonic game has topped the UK charts since 2008’s Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games....

Telltale has officially announced a new episodic series based on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Scheduled to release in 2017, Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series will be a five-part episodic series available on console, PC and mobile devices that sees players take on “multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes, and take the pilot’s seat in directing their escapades around the universe”. “With story at the core of everything that Marvel creates, who better to team with than master storytellers Telltale Games,” said Jay Ong, Marvel Entertainment’s SVP of Games & Innovation....

The hunt is on for the strange new creatures known as Temtem. Their game is taking the world by storm thanks to it finally delivering on the promise of a Pokémon MMO. It could also be that gamers have some time on their hands as they wait for all of the recently-delayed games to come out. Whatever the case, Temtem are here and they demand to be captured. This time we’re going to focus on a Temtem known for being as deadly as it is cute – the Mental/Toxic-type Adoroboros....

If you’ve been hoping for more Terminator games ever since Terminator: Resistance in 2019, you are in luck. This one, tentatively titled Terminator Survival Project, comes from developer Nacon Studio Milan. This is a very small tease, the word ‘Survival’ in the title gives more away than the actual trailer. Presumably the game will be set after Judgement Day, based on both the T-800 seen and the very fiery background. Just a guess on other connections, but It’s uncertain if a survival game set in the Terminator series can be set amongst the group of John Connor’s rebels, so this might be wholly original characters....

Netflix has released a new trailer for the upcoming The Cuphead Show based on Studio MDHR’s platformer, Cuphead. First announced back in 2019, the show will star Cuphead and his brother Mugman as they embark on their madcap adventures. Joining the troublesome twosome are a host of characters, many based on the game’s infamous bosses. The voices of Cuphead and Mugman themselves are provided by Tru Valentino and Frank Todaro. In the past several months, publisher Arc System Works and developer WayForward have shared very little about River City Girls 2, the upcoming sequel to 2019’s successful brawler River City Girls. Although the companies have revealed small tidbits about the game, such as the playable characters and a few screenshots, they refrained from showing any gameplay footage. That all changed two days ago, as Arc System Works posted the first official trailer for River City Girls 2 on the company’s YouTube page....
