And solving puzzles to kill things. Sunlight, a new game from Among the Sleep developer Krillbite Studio is not one of those first-person games. Instead, it’s all about exploration and pretty vistas. There has been a recent discovery made by a fan going through the files of Super Mario Odyssey that suggests a costume was cut from the game. This costume may have been related to The Legend of Zelda series. A Twitter user named Random Talking Bush has gone through the files of Super Mario Odyssey and discovered a table that contains information about the positions of the various hats in the game....

Taito is set to unleash some of their space invader classics on the PC community with the announcement os Space Invaders Extreme coming to Steam. The Space Invaders Extreme Steam page is now live and the game is expected to be released sometime in February. Space Invaders Extreme is the re-vamped incarnation of the classic arcade game so it’s sure to sell well. We’ve also been alerted to the fact that they will also be releasing their invader-themed rhythm game Groove Coaster on Steam in the spring and more information on that release will be made available soon....

Bandai Namco Games has announced details on the sparkly Premium Edition for Tales of Vesperia: Definition Edition, which is due to launch alongside the spruced up version of the acclaimed JRPG on January 11, 2019. For starters, it includes the game, so no worries there. In addition, you’ll get a four-CD soundtrack, an art book, collectible card sets, pin badge set, Chibi Chara stickers set and a Repede Metal case. Techland’s Dying Light 2 has been getting a good reception, thanks in no small part to the developers’ support when it comes to fixes, updates, and additional content for the open-world zombie game. However, Techland has shared that there will be a delay for the first major story DLC for Dying Light 2. Instead of a June release, we are now looking at a September launch. “Over the last few months, we have focused on adding some of your most requested features, such as New Game + mode, FOV slider for consoles, and many co-op improvements,” Techland shared in a press release....

The Beginner’s Guide, the new game from The Stanley Parable creator Davey Wreden, will launch tomorrow for PC and Mac. “The Beginner’s Guide is a narrative video game for Mac and PC,” reads the blurb on the game’s website. “It tells the story of a person struggling to deal with something they do not understand.” A few teaser images have also been released. Today NIS America released another trailer of the western localization of The Cruel King and the Great Hero. The trailer focuses on pairing the gameplay of this charming adventure known in Japan as “Warui Oosama to Rippana Yuusha” with one of its adorable songs titled “Txilrcka,” composed by Akiko Shikata. You can check out the trailer below. The Cruel King and the Great Hero was released in Japan a few months ago, while it’ll come west March 1, 2022 for PS4 and Nintendo Switch....

Indie studio Xaviant has announced The Culling, an online battle game that sees 16 players exploring a tropical island, scavenging items and crafting weapons to help them survive a brutal battle royale. It is, essentially, The Hunger Games: The Video Game. “As a contestant in the deadly game of The Culling, you must explore, scavenge items, craft weapons, and build traps that will enable you to slay your fellow contestants and emerge victorious before the end of the round,” reads the game’s description....

We now know what the next installment in Supermassive Games’ The Dark Pictures anthology will be called House of Ashes thanks to a teaser trailer at the end of the latest game in the series, The Dark Pictures: Little Hope. Duncan Jones has publicly declared he’d like to make a movie based on classic 1995 LucasArts adventure Full Throttle for Disney Plus. Ubisoft has launched the new Warlords of New York expansion for online shooter Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 this week, which means there’s a launch trailer to celebrate, as well as announcing the expansion will be coming to Google Stadia later this month.
