Epic Games has grabbed up yet another exclusive for its platform, this time with the addition of developer Big Blue Bubble’s 2D action-platformer, Foregone. The partnership was announced during the special Epic Games show reel at the 2019 Game Awards livestream. Does anyone remember the Mattel Electronics Intellivision? Sony has announced The Last of Us Part 2 has sold more than 4 million copies since its launch last week. In Europe, The Last of Us Part 2 pre-orders eclipsed those of Marvel’s Spider-Man at the equivalent point in their cycle, which was super significant. Though affected by delays, leaks, and review-bombs, the game looks like it’s certainly pitching towards becoming the “defining game for this generation.” Neil Druckmann, creative director for The Last of Us Part 2, has shared his appreciation for the fans who have waited for this game for six years....

HBO’s The Last of Us earned the network its second-biggest premiere since 2010, behind only last year’s debut for House of the Dragon. In the US, 4.7 million viewers tuned in for the series’ first episode on Sunday, Deadline reported. We’re still waiting to hear word from UK broadcast partner Sky Atlantic for viewing figures here. Polish developer Bloober Team has released a new trailer for upcoming supernatural horror The Medium, showing off a brand new character. Details on this new character are being kept largely under wraps at the moment, with the studio deliberately keeping their name under wraps, although it’s certainly implied from this trailer and the description that previously-revealed villain The Maw may not be the only bloodthirsty monster. One thing we do know is that their appearance is based on Polish actor Marcin DorociÅ„ski, who is currently featuring in Netflix chess drama, The Queen’s Gambit....

Action platformer The Messenger is indeed, as was rumoured last week, coming to PS4, and today developer Sabotage has confirmed the news and given the game a release date of March 19. As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, The Messenger is a love letter to the original Ninja Gaiden II, and has more than its fair share of influences from that game as you play as a young ninja delivering a scroll across a cursed world to ensure his clans survival....

DC Fandome, the online streaming event for all things DC Comics, is set to start this Saturday on August 22. We already know that two games will be announced and shown off at the event. The first is Rocksteady’s new game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and the second is an unannounced title from WB Montreal, the same studio behind Batman: Arkham Origins. WB Montreal has been teasing this Batman game for quite some time and has now doubled down on the hints in the final week leading up to Fandome....

Almost two weeks after it went offline, the original Call of Duty Warzone is back online under the new name Caldera. During the game’s offtime, players were “encouraged” to play Warzone 2.0 for free, whilst developer Raven Software shifted its focus over. As promised, Warzone has been quietly relaunched as Caldera, albeit on life support, as Ishraq put it earlier. Caldera requires a separate installation from Warzone 2.0 (which is already itself quite beefy) and, as the name suggests, only contains the Caldera map....

Supernatural Inspector Morse-like tale The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is scheduled to be released on Xbox One and Xbox One X in two weeks time. Launching on Friday, January 19, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a first-person narrative-driven exploration game where you play as detective Paul Prospero investigating, yes, the vanishing of young boy named Ethan Carter. It first came to PC in September 2014, before being ported to PlayStation 4 a year later....

Telltale Games has thrown up a 15-minute playable demo of The Walking Dead: The Final Season on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The teaser for the zombie-slaying episodic adventure game includes the opening segments for The Final Season, and is designed with the idea of showcasing the various new gameplay wrinkles that have been thrown into the mix. Chief among these include an unscripted combat system, the Resident Evil 4-style over-the-shoulder camera viewpoint, and revamped art style, which goes to extra lengths to align itself better with Robert Kirkman’s comic books....

Capcom has announced that long-time series fan favourite character Dan Hibiki will be joining the Street Fighter V: Champion Edition roster from February. The character had been set to kick off Season 5 of the game as a winter 2020 release, but as revealed in a recent Developer Message video from the game’s producer Shuhei Matsumoto, the team had been adjusting their development style to “prioritize the safety of the development team, their family members and partners” following the COVID-19 guidelines, as well as trying to maintain the “level of quality that meets our standards” for the content, meaning he won’t arrive until right at the end of that season, in February 2021....

Superhot and the standalone expansion Superhot VR are coming to the PS4 this week. They’ll both arrive on the PlayStation Store on July 19. That’s tomorrow folks! Up until now, the original version of Superhot has been an Xbox One console exclusive, while Superhot VR has been available on Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. But no longer! If you have a PS4 and or PSVR, you can buy the games separately for £20 each, or as part of the Mind is Software bundle for £33....

First-person puzzle-shooter Superhot is coming to Xbox One on May 3, designer Cezary Skorupka has announced. Skorupka confirmed the date on an [email protected] livestream last night, stating that the date is “rock solid” and that “nothing will change. This is the day you will play Superhot on Xbox One”. Originally released on PC, Superhot puts a unique spin on first-person shooting by slowing down time while the player stands still, forcing them to evaluate the position of enemies and bullets and move through the level without being shot....

Tales from the Borderlands is no longer available for purchase on Steam. This has been coming for a long time. As Telltale’s games basically all used licensed properties, when those licenses expire and there wasn’t any Telltale left to renew those licenses, the games they were based on were doomed to fade into obscurity. Telltale Games, the studio famous for making popular their own brand of narrative games, closed down last September after a prolonged period of financial distress....
