Pokémon Go will definitely be getting Pokémon trading and PvP battles, at some point. The additional features have been announced previously, but are yet to be implemented into the game. The Pokémon Company CEO, Tsunekazu Ishihara, spoke about Pokémon Go and its progress in an interview with Bloomberg, saying that, ‘We’ve only accomplished 10 percent of what Pokémon and Niantic are trying to do.’ Ishihara has expanded on this, stating that, ‘Going forward we will have to include fundamental Pokémon experiences such as Pokémon trading and peer-to-peer battles, and other possibilities....

Until Dawn has long had a special place in my heart. Ever since its release in 2015, I’ve been clamoring for the star-studded, schlocky horror game that puts player choice at its heart to get a sequel. So when Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games announced The Dark Pictures Anthology, I was suitably hyped. For one reason or another, though, I’ve largely felt these have missed the mark. The dialog felt awkward, the storylines and scares a little lackluster, and they’ve just failed to capture that campy horror magic that Supermassive’s 2015 managed to do so well....

EA has announced The Sims 4: Get To Work, the first expansion pack for last year’s hit people simulator. Arriving in April, Get To Work introduces three new career options for your Sims, including the option to deliver babies and save lives as a Doctor, create new crazy inventions as a Scientist or solve crime and arrest criminals as a Detective. You’ll also be able to build and manage your own business to become a “Simoleonaire”, with Maxis promising to let you open a bakery, clothing boutique, photo studio, art gallery, book store and more....

The Surge, s sci-fi action RPG from Deck13, will launch May 16 for PS4, Xbox One and PC, Focus Home Interactive has announced. The confirmed release date is accompanied by a new CGI trailer which aims to showcase the “intense, visceral combat between man and machine”. Uncharted will now premiere on July 16, 2021, instead of October 10, 2021, announced Sony (via IGN). The rescheduling is one of a cluster of films that have been impacted by production problems arising from the pandemic. In March, recorded cases of the coronavirus were increasing sharply in European countries, including Germany, which is where filming for Uncharted would have begun. To protect cast and crew from contracting the disease, Sony chose to stop filming the long-suffering project until the global situation recovers....

It has gotten so widespread that the game has even enjoyed its highest concurrent player count just recently, which meant a lot more people are playing it compared to when it was first released. Whether the fans are doing it due to utter disappointment from the mixed Netflix show or by merely wanting more Witcher adventures, you can’t help but make comparisons between the two adaptations....

The developers behind Subnautica have unveiled Moonbreaker as their next major title, and it’s a blend of sci-fi action and Miniature action. In a trailer unveiled at Gamescom Opening Night 2022, the new title was shown off in all its glory for the first time. The trailer offers a mix of miniatures doing battle and voice bits from the major characters that will be featured in the title, with the latter speaking to the personality of the game’s cast and its lore....

Cute-as-buttons platformer Super Lucky’s Tale is embracing a 1980s retro theme for its latest slice of downloadable content, Guardian Trials. Here, we find the plucky hero sweating it through boot camp in an effort to become a full-fledged Guardian. This includes being able to dress up like someone from one of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 80s training videos, with unitards, legwarmers, wristbands, and other era-appropriate clobber. It even features a gloriously hammy soundtrack to top it all off....

Mario Segale, an American real estate developer that Nintendo named its most iconic character, Super Mario, after, has passed away aged 84. According to a report on Kotaku, Segale died on October 27 surrounded by family at his home in Washington. As well as being Mario’s namesake, Segale also leased Nintendo of America a warehouse back in the early 1980s, during a time when the plucky plumber was named Jumpman after his appearance in Donkey Kong....

Super Meat Boy is coming to PS4 and PS Vita this autumn, Team Meat has announced – and it’ll be free to PS Plus users at launch. The game originally arrived on PC and Xbox 360 at the back end of 2010 to critical acclaim, at which point Team Meat wasn’t sure it could ever bring the title to PlayStation. “When Super Meat Boy was launched, Team Meat wasn’t allowed to bring it to PS3 for very complicated reasons,” explains co-founder Tommy Refenes....

Crema, the developer of the massively multiplayer monster hunting game Temtem, has relaxed its approach to applying sanctions to players that misuse the game (via Eurogamer). Crema has since moderated its approach, though it won’t be telling what activity will constitute a ban. “The team spent all morning checking banned accounts and player accounts saying ‘they didn’t do anything illegal’. We re-checked over 100 accounts,” explained the developer in a new post to Twitter....
