The opening of The Callisto Protocol has leaked. The game is set for release on 2nd December across PlayStation and Xbox consoles and PC, but 13 minutes of footage has been shared on YouTube. Yu-Gi-Oh! is an incredibly popular anime and manga franchise, as well as one of the best-selling card games in the world. Kazuki Takahashi, the Japanese author, and creator of Yu-Gi-Oh! has unfortunately died at the age of 60. NHK, a Japanese public broadcaster, and the Japan Times reported the news and mentioned that he was found in the sea, 300 meters away from the coast of Nago City in Okinawa. A coastal guard stated that Takahashi was found dead after an apparent snorkeling trip in Okinawa Prefecture....

The Division’s two upcoming DLC expansion packs have been delayed to let Ubisoft focus on fixing issues with the core game. The two expansions – ‘Survival’ and ‘Last Stand’ – had previously been due to release this summer and winter respectively. However, Survival now won’t launch until later in the year, with Last Stand pushed back to early 2017. Ubisoft won’t give exact dates, but it promises that Survival will release “before the end of the calendar year”....

Platinum Games’ excellent hack-and-slash Metal Gear franchise spin-off, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, is now playable on Xbox One via the backwards compatibility program. Released back in 2013, the Platinum Games take on the Metal Gear franchise received pretty decent reviews, and should have been appreciated by so many more people than the 2.7 million total it reached. It’s a peach of a game. Also released on backwards compatibility is the roller-coaster constructor ScreamRide, which is an average game....

It’s been a hell of a year for roguelikes, with more than enough titles to sate any gamer’s palette. But one game is the gift that keeps on giving: Risk of Rain 2. It came out of early access and officially released just this past August, and since then the game has received some quality of life and content updates. But the team at Hopoo Games isn’t any near being done with its latest title....

Rogue Games has shown off some more of upcoming Lovecraftian Metroidvania The Last Case of Benedict Fox. The game was first revealed earlier this month, during the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. However, developer Plot Twist has now released a first look at some gameplay, narrated by creative director Bartłomiej “Bartek” Lesiakowski. We get a closer look at Benedict, and a little more backstory on his demonic companion. It’s thanks to this companion that Fox has access to some unique powers....

The Last of Us Part 2 is arguably 2020’s most anticipated game thanks in large part to the quality of its original outing back on the PlayStation 3. After several trailers and a weird delay that came less than a month after its release date was revealed during one of PlayStation’s State of Play presentations, the game has fans wondering what’s in-store for Ellie in this journey that focuses more on her and less on Joel this time around....

Injustice 2, sequel to 2013’s Injustice: Gods Among us, has a new trailer to show off the first three DLC characters, these being Sub-Zero, Starfire, and Red Hood. In case you’re not familiar, Sub-Zero is a Mortal Kombat mainstay (having been in every MK game) with the power to control ice. Red Hood and Starfire are both DC heroes: Red Hood is kid of a gangster vigilante, and Starfire is an alien princess powered by ultraviolet radiation....

Anyone who loves indie games should be excited for the soon-to-be-released title Summer in Mara. The game has recently released its testing phase, and from the looks of the screenshots, is shaping up to be a strong entry into the farming simulation category. The game is made by Chibig; the developers of the mobile hit Deliland that got ported to consoles. The team organized a Kickstarter in February of 2019, which was quickly funded by gamers around the world....

Alexis Kennedy, the founder of Failbetter games and creator of Fallen London and Sunless Sea (both of which are excellent games) has expanded on previous remarks about working on an as yet unannounced Dragon Age project. Speaking to PCGamer, Kennedy said that ‘a part of the game will immediately look familiar to anyone who’s played Fallen London and Sunless Sea. There will definitely be that oddness visible in there.’ Kennedy’s comments this refer back directly to ones he made to Eurogamer in May, after which everyone assumed he was referring to a Dragon Age 4 (something which Kennedy says ‘isn’t an insane deduction’, although he also points out he never actually said Dragon Age 4)....

Super Stardust Portable, the spacefaring shoot-’em-up from developer Housemarque, has quietly made its way onto PlayStation Plus. The premium tier of the new PlayStation Plus offers a catalogue of classic games, from consoles as far back as the PlayStation. It also offers PSP games. The new service launched today in Europe, and the only PSP game listed under the PSP category is the wonderful Echochrome. However, Super Stardust Portable is also on the service....
