The first Witcher game on average takes around 50 hours long to complete (main story + side quests), Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings takes around 40 hours, and The Witcher III: Wild Hunt takes 130 hours. All of those are just single playthroughs, there are also the expansions. If you’ve played only the third game so far, then you’ll know how much of a time sink these games are. This brings us to the question, should you dedicate at least 100 hours on the first two Witcher games?...

Nintendo has released the promised 1.1.0 patch for Super Mario 3D All-Stars, and as well as the promised camera control options the update also adds support for the original Nintendo GameCube controller. As, er, noted by the patch notes on the official Nintendo US support website (thanks, Nintendo Life) there’s a few caveats; the controller only works for Super Mario Sunshine—the game in the collection that originally came out for the GameCube back in 2002—and you’ll have to put your Nintendo Switch into TV mode for it to work....

In a fresh trailer we saw a previously-unrevealed six-player online and local multiplayer option. Casey Jones is playable, too. We also got a release date for the game - and it’s soon. Chinese investment company Tencent has partnered up with developer PUBG Corporation’s parent company Bluehole Inc to officially release PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in China, we’ve learned via a translated press release from Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad. As of right now the game is available on Steam as an unlicensed title in China, and China-based players make up 40% of the overall base across the world. To get an official release PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has to be published by a Chinese company and apply for a license from the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT)....

Gears of War developer The Coalition has said that it is working on fixing hit detection issues affecting the Gnasher shotgun in Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. The developer’s response followed a gif posted on Reddit yesterday (pictured above) that appeared to show the weapon failing to register damage during the game’s multiplayer from point-blank range. “We’ve been actively working on improving the consistency of the Gnasher based on fan feedback in an upcoming patch for Ultimate Edition,” wrote The Coalition community manager TC Octus....

Developer Fntastic has announced The Day Before will not be releasing as expected on 1st March. Instead, its zombie MMO is now set for release on 10th November. The reason for this fairly sizable delay? The developer claims it did not trademark the game’s name and now someone else has done so instead. Last night, many of those who had wishlisted The Day Before on Steam noticed it had been removed from the platform....

Team 17 has announced that the sequel to the popular sandbox prison-escape game The Escapists will be launching on Steam 17 hours earlier than originally planned. You could call this a breakout of sorts. As a result the new Steam release schedule will be midnight in the UK and 1am in Europe. To celebrate the earlier breakout, Team 17 will be livestreaming new prisons on its Facebook page as soon as the game is released....

Rust is one hell of a chaotic game. It’s been a little over a month since Bloober Team’s The Medium launched on PC, and the post-launch work has begun. The developer implemented its first patch last month that focused purely on bug fixes and optimizations, and now a second update has been released. Patch 1.2 for The Medium brings a major new feature to the game. You can now scare yourself to death while making use of even more screen real estate than previously possible....

Pokémon’s wallet-busting online store is offering an exclusive Charizard trading card that has gotten fans rather excited. Special Delivery Charizard is an eye-catching take on everyone’s favourite Starter evolution - which imagines him as a postman. The card is strongly reminiscent of the famous Dragonite promo card given out many, many years ago to celebrate the Pokémon franchise’s first movie launching in cinemas. It featured an ability named Special Delivery, which seems to have inspired Charizard’s title here....

When The Quarry launched last month, it included a couch co-op mode for up to eight people. Supermassive Games has implemented some form of co-op in many of its horror titles, ranging from The Dark Pictures to The Quarry. However, a missing feature was the ability to play the mode online, which was delayed due to the servers getting moved out of Ukraine.
