Publisher Forever Entertainment and developer MegaPixel Studio have announced that they’re giving a lick of pain to the 1996 Sega lightgun classic in The House of the Dead: Remake heading to Nintendo Switch later this year. Another title revealed during last night’s Nintendo Indie World Showcase, the remake of the on-rails shooter will see the game get a visual overhaul to look good on modern displays while staying true to the original gameplay, but the press release also promises “a whole new entourage and gameplay changes to suit modern gaming standards....

During the “Diablo: What’s Next” panel today at BlizzCon 2018, Blizzard revealed a new Diablo game. It’s Diablo: Immortal, and it’s not for PC. It’s for mobile devices. And god damn, fans are pissed. I’ll admit I’m feeling a little chuffed myself over the announcement. Diablo III had its hooks in me for years, dragging away more than 300 hours of my life. I pushed through the story multiple times, and I’ve finished countless Rifts all in the name of that glorious loot....

An upcoming Nintendo Direct will focus exclusively on the Super Mario Bros. CGI movie. Streaming this Thursday (6th October), this Direct will give us our first look at Chris Pratt’s take on Mario in the “world premiere trailer for the upcoming film”. It’s been just over two years since German developer Deck13 released The Surge, a sci-fi action RPG directly inspired by the popular Souls series. Now Deck13 is back with a sequel, refining the original formula and adding character customization, greater combat variety, and smarter AI. Despite its fresh take on the genre, the original The Surge failed to make waves, receiving only a lukewarm critical reception and audience response. Critics were particularly disappointed by the weakness of its story and lack of meaningful progression, but praised its 30-40 hour play-time and fluid combat....

Although fans were mostly happy with Netflix’s The Witcher after its first season aired back in December, one major character was missing from the action: Vesemir. Now that Netflix has officially announced The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, an animated film based on Vesemir’s origin story, there’s a pretty good chance we’re going to see the character pop up in season 2. Following The Witcher’s debut as the most watched first season of any Netflix show, it’s no surprise that the streaming service would go on to green light more projects surrounding the world of The Witcher....

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has two expansions: Hearts of Stone and then the slightly longer Blood and Wine. Although Blood and Wine can be accessed after a certain level, it’s best to save it for the very end of the game. Not only is it the longest expansion, but there’s a chance to really wrap up Geralt’s journey through the games in what seems like a very neat, final way, and it has a satisfying story to see you off....

Nintendo has revealed that the next fighter coming to Super Smash Bros Ultimate as DLC will be Final Fantasy VII antagonist Sephiroth. The news was announced in a trailer during last night’s Game Awards as previously promised, and revealed that Cloud’s nemesis with appropriate fanfare as he sets right to attacking the Smash cast and Cloud himself. Nintendo confirmed that they’ll be revealing more about his moveset and abilities in a livestream to take place on December 17, where they’ll also be confirming the release date; but don’t expect to have to wait long as the company has said it’ll be later this month....

Supergirl Season 2, Episode 3 The first two episode of Supergirlseason two were very much transitionary episodes, dealing with the changes that had to be made when the show moved from CBS to The CW, with a nice, Superman-shaped distraction to sweeten the pot. But this episode, “Welcome to Earth,” was a statement about what kind of show Supergirlcan be now that it’s on the smaller, more niche CW network — and, guys, I love this new, weird, alien-centric show....
