Konami has its nose to the grindstone creating two new Silent Hill games with one modelling itself on Supermassive’s Until Dawn, alleges a new report (via VGC). Silent Hill: Book of Memories was released for the PlayStation Vita in 2012. A spin-off with a character creator and role-playing elements, Book of Memories was a dungeon-crawler instead of a claustrophobic exploration game with a tightly focussed story. As a result, not a lot of people resonated with Book of Memories, and it’s an unlucky note for the celebrated Silent Hill series to close upon....

It’s been a long wait, but YouTube support is now officially available for the Nintendo Switch. YouTube is pretty standard these days as you could imagine, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One both featuring the app. Then again, they also have Netflix and iPlayer, which is something Ninty’s hybrid console is still lacking. Capcom has confirmed that lean, green fighting machine Blanka will make his long-awaited Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition debut on February 20. The muscle-bound warrior will be the second character in the game’s Season Three lineup, arriving some two years after SFV’s initial launch. Blanka is wooed back into this latest game of fisticuffs by a mysterious salesman, who approaches him with the prospect of making him famous by mass producing a Blanka doll....

Developer Cyanide Studio and publisher Focus Home Interactive have released Styx: Shards of Darkness’ E3 2016 trailer, revealing more about the quest awaiting the master of shadows. Built on Unreal Engine 4, Styx: Shards of Darkness promises a new adventure packed with bigger production and a host of new features. Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD will include Sonic the Hedgehog as a playable character in the upcoming puzzle and platforming game (via a press release). Boasting 100 single-player levels and 10 multiplayer mini-games, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD overhauls the Wii version and does away with motion controls in favour of analogue controls. Publisher Bandai Namco has released the opening cinematic for upcoming JRPG Tales of Arise ahead of the game’s release this September. The cinematic includes the song Hibana, which is performed by J-Rock band Kankaku Piero with animation by series veterans Ufotable. It helps set the scene for the game, which will follow the tale of two heroes named Alphen and Shionne. A Taylor Swift digital gaming experience from free-to-play smartphone and tablet giant Glu Mobile is set to launch later this year, which could be another ticket to print money for the firm behind Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. Swift will work exclusively with Glu as part of a multi-year partnership to develop and create a new, “one-of-a-kind digital gaming experience”. “Bringing with her over 227 million social followers, I am thrilled to welcome Taylor Swift, an award-winning singer, musician and songwriter, to Glu’s family,” said Niccolo de Masi, Glu Chairman and CEO....

Wo Long development producer Masaaki Yamagiwa has commented on the difficulty level of Team Ninja’s new Soulslike, revealed at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. Yamagiwa previously worked at Sony’s Japan Studio when it published Bloodborne, so understands the importance of balanced difficulty. “Difficult games shouldn’t be difficult just for the sake of it,” Yamagiwa told IGN. “I think it’s really important that this difficulty exists for the purpose of delivering a sense of accomplishment to the players once they have overcome it....
