It has been over 25 years since the release of The Rocketeer, Disney’s 1991 attempt to capture their share of the post Batman/Dick Tracy comic book movie resurgence. The Rocketeer never approached the box office numbers of those films ($46 million at the US box office compared to Dick Tracy’s $103 million and Batman’s $251 million), and failed to launch the franchise that Disney envisioned. It’s a shame that The Rocketeer never quite connected, and maybe time just wasn’t on its side....

The Steam Summer Sale has officially begun, with a whole host of games receiving huge discounts. The Monster Summer Sale kicks off with the likes of GTA 5, Metro Redux, and Hotline Miami 2 all seeing reductions. But there are tonnes of others, so your best bet is to check your wishlist for particular titles to see how much has been knocked off the ones you’re most eager to pick up....

Whether you follow House House or your favorite Youtuber has picked it up, you’ve probably heard a bit about the new game Untitled Goose Game. It was released on the 20th and since then the internet has been buzzing about the goose that just seems to want to cause havoc and mayhem. The end is finally here. “Done Running”, the first episode of The Walking Dead: The Final Season, released on Steam today. Doubtless it’ll be an emotional return to the franchise, and the first of the last ever four-part episodic series by Telltale. You can pick up the full season for $19.99 USD. Episode one will be downloaded immediately upon purchase, and all upcoming episodes will become available as they are released....

Overkill’s The Walking Dead was far from perfect. To be fair, it was more like somewhere in the middle between perfect and awful. Basically, it was a middling zombie shooter with more bugs than fresh ideas. That fact didn’t go unnoticed by Skybound Entertainment, which owns The Walking Dead license. Yesterday, Skybound ended its contract with Overkill developer Starbreeze Studios, claiming the game “did not meet [the company’s] standards.” “Our creators and their stories are the core of Skybound, and since 2014 we have worked hard to expand the world of The Walking Dead into an exceptional co-op action FPS,” a Skybound representative told Variety....

A tournament that began more than a year and a half ago on the r/Nintendo subreddit is soon coming to an end. In honor of the 10th anniversary of the subreddit, user KetchupTheDuck organized a tournament aiming to narrow down a single best Nintendo game from a pool of 1,246 Nintendo releases. Now, members of the subreddit are tasked with determining one winner between The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and a Mario pick that will surprise some and seem obvious to others: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door....

As obvious as this may sound, no one likes cheaters and hackers in video games — especially competitive video games. Aside from having an unfair advantage in the form of god-mode, unlimited ammo, or wall-hacks, cheaters can drain all the fun out of the game, causing people to quit and find a new lobby. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) is notorious for its cheaters, so much so that when the game went free-to-play last December, the Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC) system banned more than 600,000 players for cheating (within the month of December)....

Fans who pick up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection will find there’s more to do than just play the 13 games available in Konami’s title, which offers experiences ranging from 1989-1994. The Cowabunga Collection technically offers just 10 titles (with three versions of Tournament Fighters and two versions of Turtles in Time), but players can also explore the history of the franchise across different forms of media. While playing the games offers a lot, those who buy the collection can also research the backgrounds of several titles....

The Good Omens TV show, an adaptation of the beloved novel from Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, is a joyous development for any Good Omens fan… but it’s a sad one, too, as Pratchett, who died in 2015, will not be here to see it come to the screen in all of its weird and wonderful glory. Of course, that doesn’t mean Pratchett wasn’t a part of the process of finally getting this book the TV show treatment....

The PS4 version of The Callisto Protocol, a survival horror game developed by Striking Distance Studios, has already received a significant day one patch. The patch mainly addresses some of the bugs that have seemingly been encountered in its early stages. Further, it also includes general in-game updates and improvements. Though the patch notes don’t exactly specify which elements of the game were retooled, it’s still reassuring to know that the developers are doing all that they can to present the game in the best way possible....

The London-based franchise for the upcoming Call of Duty League will be known as the London Royal Ravens, parent organization ReKTGlobal has officially announced. The Royal Ravens will be managed by Michael “ODEE” O’Dell, founder of Dignitas, who joined ReKTGlobal in July. The team has numerous famous investors, such as DJs Steve Aoki and Nicky Romero. Their official colors appear to be red, blue and black. The roster is comprised of Brad “Wuskin” Marshall, Jordan “Jurd” Crowley, Rhys “Rated” Price, Matthew “Skrapz” Marshall and Dylan “Dylan” Henderson, all of whom previously competed in the non-franchised Call of Duty World League....
