As we approach the end of October, Halloween is on everybody’s mind. The annual holiday of tricking and treating is near and RuneScape developer Jagex is ready to celebrate. This year’s Halloween event is now live in RuneScape, bringing 20 spooky-themed cosmetics to earn with it. As with last year, the Halloween event is taking place at Draynor Manor. Around the Manor’s garden, you’ll find a variety of skilling activities each with its own mini-quest....

It’s got the big budget and cinematic cases of L.A. Noire, the supernatural twists of Murdered: Soul Suspect, the attempts at non-linear deduction featured in Return of the Obra Dinn and Her Story, and it even throws in some Eternal Darkness-like insanity mechanics and Lovecraftian elements for good measure....

In 1994, I was about to be a freshman in high school. Street Fighter V sold fewer physical copies in the UK during its opening week than Street Fighter IV, GFK Chart-Track has revealed. The fighting game launched exclusively on PS4 and PC last Tuesday, but failed to outdo the series’ week one sales record set by its predecessor, which launched simultaneously on Xbox 360 and PS3 back in February 2009. The figure does not account for the number of copies sold digitally, however, which is expected to be considerably higher than the number of copies downloaded seven years ago....

Nintendo has revealed that the absolutely fabulous Super Mario Odyssey was never planned for any other console besides the Switch. Speaking with the latest issue of Game Informer, Yoshiaki Koizumi, the game’s producer, revealed that the Big N had specific hardware capabilities in mind during the development of Mazza’s latest outing, and as such the Wii U was never in the running. ‘It was always planned for Nintendo Switch. We really were considering a lot of the hardware capabilities specifically for this game, and wanted to make the most use of them,’ he said....

Since The Legend of Zelda is one of the most popular video game franchises of all time, it’s no surprise that Link is one of the most popular characters in Super Smash Bros. Since Smash 64, our trusty hero has been seen using various items and sword attacks to tactically take the win. Link is an extremely complex character when compared to other zoner-type characters, and there are three of them to choose from....

Ness has come a long way since Smash 64, where players would always ask “who is this?” to now being a fan-favorite used by players new and old. Ness plays very differently from other characters, able to float around and throw annoying projectiles with his PK abilities. He’s certainly a unique fighter, but what makes him so great? He has a mixture of close-range combo potential and long-range offensive pressure, which makes him able to deal with some trickier characters with ease....

In the current entertainment production shutdown caused by the COVID-19 global pandemic, most networks and streamers are keeping their scheduling plans to themselves—that is, if they have even decided upon them. But, today, The CW announced their plans for the fall and winter, which will include the airing of the final seven episodes of Supernatural Season 15, aka the final seven episodes of Supernatural ever. (Until the inevitable reboot.) Supernatural Season 15 is now scheduled to return in Fall 2020, CW president Mark Pedowitz said today during the network’s press call (via Variety)....

The first few months of a fighting game are always a great time for new and old players. New players are able to stand on more even footing, and veterans get a chance to really crack open a new game. These early days of a new fighting game are no stranger to discoveries, many of which can drastically alter how the game is played. Guilty Gear is certainly no stranger to this, as a new taunt cancel technique has been discovered in Guilty Gear Strive....

The culmination of your journey around each island in the Airborne Archipelago is a Dojo. These are like Gyms from Pokémon. You will have to battle your way through a series of Dojo members before taking on the leader. In Temtem, your first real challenge will be attempting to beat Arissola, the water and wind Dojo, led by Sophia. You can brute force your way through the Arissola Dojo. But each time your team of battle buddies gets knocked out, you’re going to lose gold that could be better spent on Temtem Cards or Donut backpacks....

Spec Ops: The Line rattled the shooter genre when it first hit the scene in 2012. Delays are never fun, especially if one has been waiting for years if not decades for a game. It stinks, as it happens every year. Yet, behind that is hope. Hope that said delay will make the game turn into one of the classics. Now, by our title, we are referring to games that were originally supposed to come out in 2019. Watch Dogs Legion and The Last of Us Part II were delayed further into 2020 in 2019 so those don’t really count....
