Star Wars Battlefront II had a rocky start, but it’s slowly becoming capable of great things. I covered the game’s lack of content in another article, concluding that once the rest of this year’s planned content drops, the game will be in fantastic shape. Last week saw the entrance of General Grievous, the prequel terror who wields four lightsabers, as a playable hero. This month will add two more Clone Wars-era favorites: the Battle Of Geonosis and Ewan McGregor-style Obi-Wan Kenobi....

Today Merge Games, Dotemu and developer Tribute Games announced that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will be released for PS5. The standard version for Sony’s newest console will be released on Nov. 25 with a special edition coming later. It’ll even be available physically, at least in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Middle East (this has not been confirmed for North America yet, to our knowledge). The standard edition will even include some additional goodies, a 24-page “Pocket Guide” featuring character bios and in-game animation sprites, and a flexible pizza-shaped PVC keyring....

Tekken 7 is leading the charge of some new games coming to Xbox Game Pass this month. Earlier this morning, Microsoft unveiled a couple of titles coming to the subscription service alongside a host of new Xbox Game Pass Quests. Along with Bandai Namco’s 2017 sequel, Frostpunk and Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet will be coming to the console side of the service. PC users will see FTL and Frostpunk....

Very difficult to resist the urge to call this one a Tekk Review, obviously. Tekken 7 is a title I’m spectacularly unqualified to judge as a game, since it’s part seven of a saga I’ve barely played and also firmly inside a genre I rarely touch. Were this a standard review, that’d be a double knock-out blow to any credible critique. What I can absolutely do, though, is judge whether Tekken 7 has made it across to the PC in fighting form....

WWE 2K20 is the latest in the yearly sports entertainment franchise and the game has already been on the receiving end of some negative press even before its release. This year’s entry marks the first time that the franchise didn’t have long time developers Yukes at the helm. Yukes have moved on to work on their own wrestling franchise while their understudies Visual Concepts have taken the reins going forward....

DC Universe Online is headed to the dark multiverse in an upcoming episode that will feature The Batman Who Laughs. The episode was teased on the games official Twitter page with a 3d rendering of the Batman/Joker hybrid villain. Episode 35 is schedule for release in September, and will be the game’s first foray into the dark multiverse. The Batman Who Laughs, despite being a relatively new villain, has proven to be massively popular with fans and is sure to bring some attention to the long running free-to-play MMO....

In news that will surprise very few, especially as it was hinted at a few days ago, a Crash Team Racing remake is coming to PlayStation 4 next summer. Developed by Beenox, Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled will be available from June 21, 2019, and promises ’the authentic CTR experience, now fully-remastered and revved up to the max.' All the characters, tracks and power-ups featured in the original return, and now you’ll be able to play (and ABSOLUTELY DESTROY) other drivers online, as well as in local multiplayer....

Despite a less than warm welcome to the mobile platform, The Elder Scrolls: Blades has done a commendable job in consolidating the expansive world of Skyrim. In doing so, a few notable open-world features were necessarily cut in order to maintain the overall splendor of an Elder Scrolls title. To compensate for this loss, Bethesda incorporated new city-building features for a fresh take on the popular franchise. Blades upholds the standards of a true Elder Scrolls installment, delivering beautiful graphics and a solid storyline, easing players into the new style of gameplay....

Today, during a reveal event teased a few days ago, ZeniMax and Bethesda showcased this year’s saga that will come to The Elder Scrolls Online. This time around the story will focus on political intrigue, with the mysterious Ascendant Lord threatening the peace of the ancestral islands of the Breton people. We’re also getting a new card game, Gwen… ahem… Triple Tr… ahem… Tales of Tribute. It’s a deck-building game that you’ll be able to play against other players and NPCs....

The Evil Within 2 has received a free update today adding a new first-person view for the Tango Gameworks-developed horror sequel. Available for the PS4, PC, and Xbox One versions of the game, first-person view can be toggled on/off in the game’s menu screen, and can also be utilised in a free trial that’s currently ongoing. This lets you play through the opening chapters of the game, and any progress you make will transfer to the full version of The Evil Within 2....

Horror games were traditionally considered a niche genre. They rose to prominence in the late ’90s thanks to franchises like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, but they began to lose steam in the generations after that. Indie horror titles kept the scene alive, but after the release of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard in 2017, the AAA horror game space has been seeing a wonderful resurgence on PC. Resident Evil 7 proved that the genre can succeed at the highest levels of production....

Well, it would have to. Anybody would have to learn lie to themselves and others to survive a place like this. Not Eden, though. She was the real deal. Naughty Dog has confirmed it won’t be showing anything on The Last of Us: Part II at this week’s The Game Awards. Writing on Twitter, the California-based developer said it will reveal more details on the highly anticipated horror sequel at a later date. Presumably this means E3, as there’s no PlayStation Experience this year. The Last of Us: Part II is currently in development for PlayStation 4, and takes place a few years after the first game....

Nintendo has confirmed that the Nintendo Switch has already beaten the Wii U’s lifetime sales across the world. This comes from an updated financial report that takes into account all global sales up to December 31st, 2017. We had previously reported that the Wii U had already been outsold by the Nintendo Switch in Japan. That report had yet to take into account the sales from across the world. It wasn’t a safe bet that the Switch had the same success internationally as it did in Japan, as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One had amazing holiday sales, which likely affected the Switch’s debut....
