The Xbox Game Store has seemingly confirmed that Super Bomberman R, the former Switch-exclusive blast-’em-up from 2017, is making the jump to Xbox One this summer. According to the listing, the version coming to Microsoft’s chunky telly box will support the same features as the Switch edition, so that means the multiplayer-focused Battle Mode (with support for eight local players and 2-4 online participants) and the dedicated story mode, which can also be tackled cooperatively....

The post-apocalyptic colony builder Surviving the Aftermath has just received its sixth update, Hostile World, adding a whole lot of things that want to kill you to the game. Marauding bandits have set their sights on your colony, and the wildlife has become more aggressive. But, you can now build your colonists a toilet! So overall, things aren’t too bad. Up until now, your colonists have just done what they can to survive the end of the world....

In a side turn of events, it looks like the development of System Shock 3 has been put on indefinite hold. According to a new report from VGC, the team at OtherSide Entertainment that was working on the project is “no longer employed” at the studio. An anonymous source told the publication this news and confirmed that the LinkedIn profiles of numerous team members have been updated to indicate they are no longer employed at the company....

Tom Clancy’s The Division is not only Ubisoft’s biggest-ever launch, but also the best-selling new game franchise in an opening week, the publisher has announced. This means the team-shooter outsold Activision and Bungie’s Destiny during its launch week, grossing more than $330 million worldwide in its first five days. “The Division taking the top spot in the industry for first week sales of a new franchise is a tremendous achievement. The United States Federal Trade Commission has said it plans to sue Microsoft to block their $68.7 billion dollar USD acquisition of Call of Duty publisher Activision Blizzard. The FTC released an official statement on their complaint, which they’ve issued today, claiming that the deal would “enable Microsoft to suppress competitors to its Xbox gaming consoles and its rapidly growing subscription content and cloud-gaming business.” The statement also makes reference to Microsoft’s purchase of Bethesda parent Zenimax back in 2020, pointing to its decision to make Starfield and Redfall Xbox exclusives....
