It feels like Super Massive Games’ Dark Pictures Anthology has been picking up momentum of late. While Man of Medan and Little Hope are the smaller, bite-sized horror experience that the series was initially pitched as –each dealing with a different subgenre of horror–, House of Ashes felt like more of a complete package. The Division 2 players on consoles were hoping that the developer Massive Entertainment would apply some form of balance changes to make the recently-released raid content easier, but this week the studio was firm in its decision not to change anything. Back at E3 2018, Bethesda confirmed that The Elder Scrolls VI was in active development and on its way. However, the publisher hasn’t given any new details regarding their hit open-world series since that original announcement. Well, according to a recent tweet from Bethesda’s Pete Hines, fans shouldn’t expect new information anytime soon. A user by the tag @KilowattQ asked Hines when fans should expect some info on The Elder Scrolls VI....

It looks like Epic Games will once again be running its festive freebie giveaway over the Christmas period. The Night Trap 25th Anniversary Edition was released on August 15, but only for North American folks. Developer Screaming Villains, said that the PS4 version is out in North America only initially because requests for additional languages only came ‘after development was completed’. It seems that Screaming Villains may have forgotten that Europe has more than one language. With multi-region games it can in fact take longer to be approved in different ones depending upon the content....

Among the many things wrong with The First Purge, the fourth in the series of films about a totalitarian future America where lawlessness is allowed for one night a year as a way to keep the crime rate low the other 12 months, is its depiction of Staten Island. While New York City’s fifth (and often forgotten) borough certainly has its rougher areas–two of them, St. George and Stapleton, are namechecked in the film–Staten Island not only has some of the lowest crime rates and highest median incomes in the city, but it’s the only borough to reliably vote Republican in nearly every presidential election of the past few decades....

The thankfully good and stunningly gorgeous Half-Life: Alyx has only been out a couple days and we already have a patch for it. While our own reviewer reported that the game could be the evolution of VR, apparently Valve still has tweaks in mind. Alyx‘s version 1.1 update offers new improvements for in-game turning, as well as a host of changes and bug fixes. Version 1.1 makes changes and offers more options to turning in the game....

Capcom has officially announced that it will be bringing the remastered Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney spin-off The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles to the West later this summer. The collection will comprise of both The Great Ace Attorney Adventures and The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve, both previously only available in Japan, with a full English translation for both games. There’ll be ten cases to play through, complete with an investigation stage with you examining the crime scenes for clues, a trial stage where you’ll be going up against your rival lawyer in front of a Judge and jury....

The Japanese website Dengeki Online hosted new gameplay of the upcoming JRPG by Nihon Falcom The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II – Crimson Sin. The gameplay showcases the sibling duo Kasim and Feri Al-Fayed on top of more action focusing on Renne Bright. We also get to take an extensive look at the Shard Search feature. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was a massive change in structure for the franchise. After Nintendo was seemingly making the experience more closed-off and linear, this game bucked all of the franchise’s own trends to become not only one of the best Zelda games but one of the best open-world games ever made. While the game doesn’t necessarily reinvent the wheel, it builds on what others hinted at....

The Wall Street Journal has reported that Nintendo is looking into bringing The Legend of Zelda to smartphones. While this isn’t confirmed, Nintendo is constantly looking to bolster its mobile output. Super Mario Run wasn’t the rip-roaring success that the Japanese company expected, according to Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima in an interview with Nikkei, but that hasn’t deterred them, it seems. In February, Kimishima spoke with Time about how Nintendo is ‘gaining confidence’ in the mobile space after Fire Emblem Heroes made $5 million in revenue, in less than a week....

Your job is to spy on the senior gangsters and ensure the organization runs smoothly — and also to ensure you keep all your limbs. While the hacking gameplay doesn’t look particularly complex, the game is much more about telling a story, which looks highly entertaining....
