Telltale Games has suggested that development of The Walking Dead: The Final Season may yet be completed, following news that the company is winding down following a series of major layoffs. At the time, Telltale didn’t comment on the status of The Walking Dead: The Final Season, although various sources, including voice actress Melissa Hutchinson, indicated that the series would be cancelled following the release of episode two. However, the studio has now addressed the topic on Twitter, stating it is ‘actively working’ towards a solution that will see Clementine’s final adventure completed....

Tequila Works has reacquired the rights to its upcoming adventure game Rime, the developer has announced. “Tequila Works has chosen to reacquire the rights to its adventure game, RiME,” the company said on Twitter, “and is working hard to realise its aspirations for it.” The news suggests that Sony may no longer have plans to publish the game, which was announced in 2013 as a “first party PS4 exclusive”. If so, the game could end up on other platforms under a different publisher, or self-published by Tequila Works....

The Slam Dunk series is getting a new film adaptation via The First Slam Dunk anime movie, and a trailer has been released to mark the occasion. Streamed by Toei Animation on Nov. 4 via their official YouTube channel, the trailer doesn’t feature any explicit dialogue or exposition related to the series. Instead, most all of it is related to showcasing the 3D animation blended with 2D backgrounds that will be used for what appears to be the entirety of the film....

The Last of Us’ acclaimed single-player DLC ‘Left Behind’ will be given a standalone digital release on May 12 for both PS4 and PS3. The standalone title will be priced £7.99. Left Behind focuses on Ellie’s story, shedding a light on her relationship with best friend Riley from the military boarding school they both grew up in. The game also includes a two hour trial of the Factions Multiplayer mode, and will offer multiple upgrade paths through the in-game store to both the full Factions experience and/or the full game for The Last of Us....

The Pokémon Company has seen a record financial year, according to industry analyst Dr. Serkan Toto. A filing in the Japanese government’s official gazette shows sales were up over 70 percent from the previous year to 204bn yen (US$1.6bn), while operating profit was at 59 billion yen (US$460m) and net profit rose 123 percent to 41bn yen (US$320m). Of course, that’s down to some huge game releases over the fiscal year, including Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Pokémon Unite and New Pokémon Snap....

The Sims franchise has officially surpassed over $5 billion in revenue, according to a new report from EA. Electronic Arts’ CEO Andrew Wilson announced the impressive revenue news during the company’s recent Q2 earnings call. The report also detailed that the number of monthly players for the popular simulation game increased by 4o% year-on-year. In the 2019 fiscal year, The Sims 4 had grown 35%. The company predicts that the number will continue to grow in the future....

The team from Big Little Lies have reunited to tell a story about the lies people tell themselves. Nicole Kidman – also coming off the success of Aquaman – stars in HBO’s The Undoing, a new limited series written by David E. Kelley, who also serves as showrunner. Susanne Bier serves as director and executive producer for all the episodes, which is quite a coup, seeing as she’s coming off the tremendously successful Netflix film, Bird Box, and previous Primetime Emmy-winning glory for her work on the BBC/AMC miniseries, The Night Manager....

The 7.0 patch for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is now live and has added Byleth, a number of Mii costumes, and introduced numerous balance changes to the characters in the game. The last Super Smash Bros. Ultimate patch didn’t offer any crucial changes to the game, but the 7.0 patch has affected almost every character on the roster. A “serious issue” with the latest Xbox One update for Terraria has caused the game’s online multiplayer to stop working, 505 Games has confirmed. The new update rolled out yesterday, prompting the game’s publisher to issue a warning asking players to “avoid trying to use” the Xbox One version’s online multiplayer “for now”. “We are sorry to confirm that a serious issue exists in the Xbox One Terraria update that was published 6th July 2016, version KTCP-20160531,” 505 said in a tweet posted this morning....
