George R.R. Martin is safe. He wants you to know that in his new blog post about his personal situation during the coronavirus pandemic. On his still amusingly antiquated website, Martin penned a new entry titled “Strange Days” where he revealed that he is taking the threat of COVID-19 very seriously considering his age and health, and that he has entered self-isolation. “For those of you who may be concerned for me personally… yes, I am aware that I am very much in the most vulnerable population given my age and physical condition,” Martin wrote....

Capcom wrapped up the 2019 edition of its regular Capcom Cup competition by announcing another new fighter who’ll be added to Street Fighter V Champion Edition when it launches in March next year. Seth, previously the final boss from Street Fighter IV, has a new look – given their brain is now inhabiting a new body following the events of that game – and has a bunch of moves at their disposal including Tanden Engine, which lets them steal a selected special move from their opponent, and Tanden Extreme which throws their opponent at the screen with quite the impact....

With digital distribution being a godsend for indie games, many downloadable titles end up remaining digital-only for their entire lifespan. While understandable from a marketing/cost perspective, it has created situations where some games disappear from sale once licensing agreements expire (cough Scott Pilgrim cough). Nintendo has dropped of a new Super Smash. Bros Ultimate trailer, confirming that the crossover fighting game is the best pre-selling entry in the franchise to date. Not only that, but Mazza and co’s epic punch-up is also the biggest pre-selling game for the Switch to date. Now that’s pretty impressive, right?
