The success of the new Netflix series The Witcher has sent interest streaming back to the games developed by CD Projekt Red. Specifically, sales of The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt have spiked again. So many newcomers climbing on board this late in the game begs the question: Do the games need to be played in order? Typically a story should be enjoyed from start to finish. But try telling that to the likes of Quentin Tarantino....
Yennefer of Vengerberg has always been one of the most interesting characters in the Witcher franchise. She’s compelling because of how often she rides the line between hero and villain. While she has a good heart, she can sometimes do things or act in a certain way that wouldn’t be considered heroic. The video game adaptation of the character nailed this aspect of her personality. During the Witcher 3, Yennefer is at times kind and noble, whereas other times, she’s jealous and selfish....
Blizzard started off BlizzCon 2019 with an apology for the Hong Kong controversy. It then quickly transitioned to the official announcement of Diablo 4, a game that has been rumored for years and appears to have been in development for even longer than many fans could have expected. Blizzard revealed Diablo 4 with a lengthy cinematic that set the stage for the game’s main villains. In the cinematic, players can see the villain Lilith summoned, complete with massive, Satantic horns and what appears to be a huge cape made out of human skin....
Super Mario 64 may be 22-years-old, but that hasn’t stopped people from fiddling with Shigeru Miyamoto’s defining platform adventure all these years on. Modder Kaze Emanuar has come up with some pretty awesome results in his time with the game, including introducing Sonic as a playable character. More recently however, he’s now got Mazza’s Nintendo 64 behemoth up and running in widescreen at a buttery-smooth 60fps. It wasn’t an easy task either....
After the news earlier in the week that Super Mario Odyssey sold over 2 million copies worldwide, Nintendo has today confirmed that the game has become the fastest-selling Super Mario title ever in Europe. The previous record was held by Super Mario Galaxy 2 and was comfortably smashed in just three days with Odyssey only having launched this past Friday, October 27. The achievement is well deserved – our Colm called the game ‘a masterpiece’ and scored it a perfect 10 in his review....
This Supergirl review contains spoilers. Supergirl Season 5 Episode 19 “Immortal Kombat” wasn’t supposed to be the finale of Supergirl Season 5. Yet, much like both The Flash and Batwoman’s similarly early season enders, it really ends up working as one almost in spite of itself. It doesn’t hurt that this is the show’s best and most complete episode in a while, moving the overall plot forward and giving several major – and sadly neglected – characters a scene or two to shine....
A new survey shows just how bad a game Ghost Recon: Breakpoint really is. The results are in: Breakpoint is bad. Like, really bad. Ubisoft knew that the latest Ghost Recon game was in trouble when sales failed to materialize, but they didn’t know what was wrong until they recently completed a 2-week long survey. THQ Nordic is ‘reimagining’ survival horror classic Alone in the Dark, with Soma and Amnesia: The Dark Descent writer Mikael Hedberg at the helm. Alone in the Dark, for those too young to remember, is widely considered to be the granddaddy of the survival horror genre, with the 1992 original pioneering the fixed-camera spook-house formula that would go on to influence the likes of Resident Evil and Silent Hill. THQ Nordic’s reimagined version of Alone in the Dark - which is being handled by Swedish developer Pieces Interactive - takes the basic premise of the 1992 original, in which private detective Edward Carnby helps Emily Hartwood investigate her uncle’s suicide at the gloomy Derceto Mansion, and shakes it up a little for modern audiences....
The first teaser for System Shock 3 was rather lacking, to say the least. It didn’t help that OtherSide Entertainment is still reeling from the gigantic failure that was Underworld Ascendant. Personally, I don’t know if can trust them with a beloved franchise again. However, it looks like the studio took some of the feedback to heart since GDC. This new teaser shows a clear improvement, particularly the look of SHODAN....

Team Liquid has officially unveiled their new Dota 2 roster, which will compete in the upcoming Dota Pro Circuit season. The organization was prompted into signing a new lineup after their own decided to leave shortly after The International. Team Liquid has filled that vacancy with the previous Alliance roster, who recently parted ways with their own organization. Team Liquid’s previous Dota 2 roster consisted of multiple big names, most of whom were on the Liquid lineup that won The International in 2017....
