Publisher Nexon has revealed the full trailer for its upcoming third-person shooter The First Descendant today, just ahead of Gamescom 2022. The First Descendant will be showcased at Gamescom Online, and will be playable with a Steam beta coming in October. The First Descendant will be among the first games to take advantage of Unreal Engine 5 from the ground up. And wow, does it look it. This game is gorgeous....
Ah, Fortnite, the king of crossovers it seems. We’ve had Marvel events, DC superhero game modes, and actual live concerts in-game, along with a few video game crossovers too. Now, Epic Games and Rocket League developer Psyonix have teamed up for another event that brings the Fortnite battle bus to Rocket League. The new vehicle addition is part of an upcoming event, called Llama-Rama. There’s going to be a bunch of challenges to complete in Rocket League over the course of the event that will unlock rewards in both Rocket League and Fortnite....
Microsoft has fleshed out its Xbox One backwards compatibility lineup with two new additions, including critically acclaimed brawler The King of Fighters XIII. SNK’s fighting game sequel was originally released back in 2011 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and features a massive lineup of characters and brings the Ash saga to its conclusion. It’s also considered one of the best entries in the venerable scrapper among fans, so that’s good to know....
The Lab, a compilation of new VR experiments set in a “pocket universe of Aperture Science”, will launch free this spring, Valve has announced. Aperture Science is the world in which Valve’s Portal titles are set. The Lab promises “multiple ways to enjoy room-scale VR”, with more info to be made available at GDC next week. The Lab will support SteamVR virtual reality kit, HTC Vive, which launches next month for £689 plus postage....
Naughty Dog has acknowledged the recent wave of The Last of Us Part 1 leaks, and branded them “disheartening and frustrating” to developers. A series of leaks have spilled online this week, including gameplay footage, screenshots, plus details of the game’s accessibility features and controller layout. After last week’s info blowout, the open beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 went live over the weekend, allowing us to get intimate with all the new mechanics and systems for the follow-up to Infinity Ward’s 2019 reboot (and not to be confused with 2009’s Modern Warfare 2, of course). Things were kept intimate when it comes to game modes, too, with a focus on 6v6 stalwarts - as well as a cameo from the returning third-person playlist - which helped underline how different it feels....
Fortnite’s latest season has concluded with this year’s first big live event, as the battle royale Island’s heroes aimed to end the villainous Imagined Order faction for good. Starting off the event, players found themselves in groups of up to four people inside Fortnite’s bear mech for the first time. Here, you could peer out from its bridge and onto an unfamiliar landscape - an icy moon which orbits the main Fortnite Island - and play around with gun turrets while listening to brief audio chatter between heroes Jones (Troy Baker), The Origin (Rahul Kohli) and The Foundation (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson)....

A programmer living in Sydney, Australia, has attributed the Nintendo Switch for letting him detect a potentially cancerous tumour in his hand. Writing in a post on Reddit, Chris revealed that he started noticing a severe pain in his hand when playing Mario Kart 8 on the system, notably when the pad vibrated as he collected coins. This would start in his right palm and work its way up to the first joint in the index finger....

One of the pair has a mysterious power, while the other wants to make sure the pair aren’t torn apart by the same power....
The Nintendo Direct gave everyone a bit of a surprise with the sudden release of Super Kirby Clash, and while we were happy to see it, everyone was a bit cautious at hearing the words, “Free to start” to describe the game. Fortunately, a long look at the game reveals that while there is a ton that one can purchase, it is largely unnecessary to enjoy the content, either solo or with a group of friends....

Today, TOHO animation released a brand new, full-length trailer for the upcoming film release of Teasing Master Takagi-san. In the trailer, we see a little bit behind the plot of the upcoming film, which sees Takagi and Nishikata finding a cat just before their summer vacation. Just like the television version of the anime, the plot will once again revolve around the back-and-forth nature of the two, as they get into hijinks and continue to grow together....
