The upcoming Caves and Cliffs update for Minecraft announced at Minecraft Live 2020, will come packed with new content, including new terrain generation, mobs, items, and more. While the update won’t officially launch until sometime during the summer in 2021, players won’t have to wait that long to go explore what awaits them in the game’s upcoming enormous update. A new snapshot build for Minecraft has launched, offering an early look at some of the new blocks and items coming to the game next year....

Between all the news about Ms. Marvel and Obi-Wan Kenobi, it feels like Muppets Now was one of the less-discussed Disney+ announcements from last month’s D23 convention. Described as an unscripted short-form series featuring Jim Henson’s loveable creations alongside celebrity guests, the new show is intended to premiere on the House of Mouse’s new streaming service in 2020. The series will be the latest in a long line of small-screen reboots for the Kermit-led puppet troupe, who have bounced between TV, movies, and the web since they first enchanted viewers in the 1970s....

How quickly corporate adversaries become fast friends. That is at least the outward appearance Universal Pictures and AMC Theatres wished to project in the announcement of their historic agreement to reduce the theatrical window of Universal releases to as little as 17 days. Under the arrangement revealed Tuesday, films distributed by Universal and Focus Features will play at AMC locations for a 17-day exclusive window, at which point Universal has the option to immediately make such titles available for premium video-on-demand (PVOD), including on AMC Theatres on Demand....

And here they are: July 15, and for $7.99 USD. The composers for Streets of Rage 4 have been announced, and they’re a phenomenal selection of musicians. The developers are calling the artists an “East Meets West” collection of talent. This is a fair description, as these musicians have worked on games including Final Fight, Hotline Miami, and Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. Heading up the roster will be Olivier Derivière, who serves as the main composer for the game. Derivière has worked on Dying Light 2 and Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag....

Secret Base has lifted the wraps off Streets of Red: Devil’s Dare Deluxe, a new retro-inspired beat-’em-up that’s sort of like the love child between Streets of Rage and Hotline Miami. However, the game doesn’t play pixel-for-pixel like Sega’s beloved 90s brawler, as Streets of Red combines a multitude of elements: It’s (take a deep breath) a permadeath horror multiplayer beat-’em-up. Phew. Designed for players to have a crack at the action multiple times over, the game augments your hero with typical retro-flavoured powers as they duke it out with various undead-themed monsters across four stages....

The Walking Dead developer Telltale Games has confirmed that it is in the process of shutting down permanently. Sherwood Partners confirmed to GameDaily.biz that it is overseeing the studio’s liquidation, and Pete Hawley, the CEO of Telltale, has now shut down his Twitter account. In addition, his LinkedIn profile confirms that his position with Telltale came to an end this month. Hawley initially suggested that the Telltale Game would be continuing, albeit with a skeleton crew of 25 people....

Tequila Works, the developer behind Rime and Deadlight, is the latest company to join forces with Tencent. The Madrid-based studio confirmed via press release that it was now majority-owned by the Chinese conglomerate, who will now act as its main shareholder. “For 12 years, the teams at Tequila Works have passionately crafted high-quality titles that radiated our personal sensibilities,” Tequila Works boss Raúl Rubio said. “But there’s a limit to how much you can grow by yourself....
