Code Vein is the perfect storm that didn’t quite reach maximum wind speeds. A Dark Souls scaffolding with some dark anime to color the picture sounds like an instant hit. However, at a few key moments, Code Vein finds itself tripping over its own feet. For some, it satisfies their anime kick with enough gameplay to carry it through the story. For others, it tries a little too hard to be its older brother and falls short in a big way....
GOG.com is at it again with another revival of a forgotten classic. In the late 90s, Westwood Studios created an adventure game based on Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi Epic Blade Runner. Carrying the same name, it was an interesting take on that movie’s universe that had players tracking down a different set of replicants (i.e. androids) from Harrison Ford’s character. There wasn’t much in the way of tie-in -the game was a side story that ran concurrently with the movie-, but it did accurately capture the atmosphere of the classic film....
Although perhaps not the most popular gun in Black Ops Cold War, the KSP 45 can still hold its own. This burst sub-machine gun is not based on any real-life weapon. Just know it is a mid-tier primary weapon that tends to be outperformed by the AK-74u and MP5. However, it can serve the niche role of being arguably the best mid-range SMG in the game when built correctly. This isn’t a particularly good choice for those looking for a traditional run-and-gun weapon....
Genshin Impact is coming out with a new event that is titled Invitation of Windblume. This 1.4 version is coming to the game with a host of new upgrades as well as a new headline event. The event is supposed to drop on the 17th of March with a new version of the game being released. The Invitation of Windblume is supposed to revolve around the character Venti who himself makes a comeback to the franchise....

The upcoming HBO adaptation of The Last of Us is taking the unusual step of actually casting an actor from the game to reprise the same role in the upcoming television series. As reported by Variety, Merle Dandridge will apparently be playing the role of Marlene, leader of the Fireflies resistance group who are a big player in The Last of Us‘ story and, at the start of the game, are trying to research a cure to the Cordyceps Brain Infection largely responsible for the destruction of civilisation in the series’ universe....
It sounds like those leaks didn’t hurt The Last of Us Part 2 as much as some doomsayers thought it would. PlayStation has announced that The Last of Us Part 2 has sold over 4 million copies as of June 21, making it the fastest-selling first-party PlayStation 4 exclusive ever just three days after its release, beating out Marvel’s Spider-Man, which sold 3.3 million copies in the same amount of time in 2018....

The sequel to Nippon Ichi’s vibrant yet flawed action-RPG The Witch and the Hundred Knight will be hitting the US on March 27 and Europe on March 30, respectively. The PS4-exclusive outing was previously released in Japan back in February last year. The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 opens up following the outbreak of a mysterious disease on Kevala, which targets young children. Nintendo Switch owners will receive the next core entry in the Pokemon RPG series next year, the Pokemon Company has revealed. While Ninty’s hybrid powerhouse will receive a fresh instalment in the series later this year with Pokemon Let’s Go! Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go! Eevee, this isn’t the game that the company teased at E3 last year. That’s not coming until the second half of 2019, though no further details were provided....
Surprise! Valve has pushed out another update for its beleaguered bot-ladened shooter, Team Fortress 2. Whilst not quite as impactful as the last patch, the game’s Steam page explains how the update hopes to address “exploits and stability issues”. The long bulletpointed list includes mostly quality of life (QoL) fixes, but some new game server settings will now enable server operator to “limit the amount of processing time the gamer server can spend on processing packets for each client per tick”....
