Last month, the final paid DLC for Dead Cells, titled The Queen and the Sea, finally dropped, and it provided a climax about as exciting as one could hope for. Having said that, the DLC does not mark the end of Dead Cells as a whole. Developer Motion Twin has even more free updates in store on top of the more than 20 updates that have already come out. One of these updates has already entered the alpha stage, and Dead Cells fans can freely try it out to get a first look at an upcoming biome, dubbed The Bank....

Visually, The Callisto Protocol packs a full AAA presentation, so we had high hopes for its PC version. The game is gorgeous, with fantastic animations and character models that help sell the world and story. But the PC version has some issues. As you may have heard, it’s got a bit of a stuttering problem. And by “a bit,” I mean that it stutters all the time. The stuttering is worse than I can ever remember seeing in a large release like this, and it’s no wonder the game has a 21% Mostly Negative score on Steam at the time of writing....

For quite some time now, Destiny fans have been aware that a certain fan favorite NPC will be gone soon. Cayde-6, known for his sarcastic quips and lighthearted jabs will be meeting his end during the Forsaken expansion in Destiny 2. That’s given many players some hype — after all, revenge is a powerful tool — and also some hope. Perhaps there’s a chance Cayde could make it out, right? Well, the “Last Stand of the Gunslinger” trailer pretty much shows that you’d be betting against the odds....

Square Enix will soon release The DioField Chronicle, a rather interesting take on the strategy JRPG genre. One of the most intriguing features is the fact that the gameplay flows in real-time, but (as you can read in my hands-on preview or learn by playing the demo yourself) the pace and gameplay mechanics make it quite friendly to players who enjoy turn-based strategy JRPGs. The Flame in the Flood: Complete Edition will launch for PS4 on January 17, developer Molasses Flood and publisher Curve Digital have announced. In the game a girl and her dog travel on foot and by raft down a procedurally-generated river, and must survive by collecting resources, crafting tools, self medicating and staying clear of the dangerous wildlife. The new Complete Edition promises gameplay enhancements over the PC and Xbox One edition, plus a Director’s Commentary mode, Avatars and a Dynamic Theme....

The Hong Kong Massacre is coming to PlayStation 4 in 2018, as announced on PlayStation’s pre-show livestream at Paris Games Week today, prior to their PGW press conference. Developed by Swedish studio Vreski, The Hong Kong Massacre is apparently inspired by ‘classic Hong Kong action movies,’ according the developer’s official website, which also notes the game will be coming to PC, Mac, and Linux. The 90 second trailer looked stylish as anything, and evoked a feeling of Hotline Miami crossed with a bit of Max Payne, and maybe even some Hitman thrown in for good measure....

SNK is continuing its reveal of the character roster for upcoming beat-em-up The King of Fighters XV, with Iori Yagami the next to be showcased. One of the longer-tenured fighters in the series, Iori first made his debut in The King of Fighters ‘95 and is generally considered an antagonist and rival character in his appearances. He certainly seems to be a following a similar anti-hero vibe here, with a delightful evil laugh before performing a painful looking move on his opponent....

Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann has taken to Twitter to tease what we assume is the latest addition to the cast of The Last of Us: Part II, only this time it’s of the four-legged variety. Yep, we can safely say the sequel will feature a dog. Mind blown. The game director posted a shot of himself flanked by a lovable-looking pooch kitted out in a motion capture suit, accompanied by the text, ‘Year of the Dog....

For the most part video games now allow you to choose your own path, therefore the corruption of the player is in that player’s own hands....

Publisher Private Division (The Outer Worlds, Rollerdrome) has announced a partnership with Bloober Team (The Medium, Layers of Fear) for a brand new IP. The developer will do what they do best, as the project is described as “an upcoming unannounced new survival horror IP.” Bloober Team already has a pretty big release coming up as they are tackling the remake of Silent Hill 2, though the release dates of these two titles might not line up anywhere close....

Danny McBride may have a sole creator credit on his new HBO series The Righteous Gemstones, but his old film school buddies and frequently collaborators Jody Hill and David Gordon Green of course weren’t too far away. Hill has been working with McBride since their breakout feature debut The Foot Fist Way and both have played substantial, even co-creator roles, in his past HBO series Eastbound & Down and Vice Principals....

Not only is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt a massive and epic dark fantasy role-playing video game but it also comes with two equally amazing DLCs. After making the Marvel Cinematic Universe a little groovier in Thor: Ragnarok, could Taika Waititi be turning his camera to the galaxy far, far away? That is at least what some are saying, such as Collider’s Jeff Sneider. The veteran Hollywood scoops journalist revealed on Twitter early Thursday evening that Waititi, fresh off seeing his Jojo Rabbit get an Oscar nomination for Best Picture, is being “eyed to direct a Star Wars movie....

The Test Drive brand is to return after Bigben acquired the rights from the Atari Group. Bigben has also announced its plan to develop new titles in the Test Drive Unlimited franchise. Atari has retained the rights to sell all previously release games in the Test Drive franchise. “We are more than confident with respect to the quality of this franchise, which is loved by so many players,” stated Alain Falc, CEO of Bigben Interactive....

Microtransactions are everywhere in gaming. From mobile titles to AAA releases, players can find methods of further supporting developers nearly everywhere they look. It may be from battle passes similar to Fortnite or custom skins players can purchase. Regardless of the content, microtransactions have gotten more expensive over the years.
