The Xbox One deserves a touch more respect than the platform has received since its debut in 2013. Microsoft famously and spectacularly botched the console’s launch, basically handing the eighth generation to Sony before a single game had even been shipped. Third-party developers quickly gravitated towards the PlayStation 4, while Microsoft canceled a handful of exclusives that only served to highlight the Xbox One’s lackluster first-party lineup. That’s not to say Scalebound or Fable Legends were destined for greatness, as both titles’ pre-launch footage left something to be desired, but replacing them with nothing was hardly a move in the right direction....

The Private Beta for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 will kick off next month, Ubisoft has announced. If you fancy a shot at the post-apocalyptic action-RPG ahead of launch, then all you need to do is pre-order The Division 2. Alternatively, just sign up for the Private Beta by heading here. The Division 2’s Private Beta will run during the period February 7-11, with the full game coming out on March 15 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One....

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is receiving a fresh batch of endgame content next week, with the Tidal Basin Stronghold among the new activities players are able to have a crack at. Tier 5 will also become available, which unlocks level 500 gear, Heroic difficulty mode, plus the chance to repeat Strongholds allowing you to earn extra loot. Three new gear sets are also up for grabs: the True Patriot, Ongoing Directive, and Hard Wired....

According to an official post, the developers themselves confirmed the follow-up to the wildly successful opening season. Masters of the Universe, the 1987 movie starring Dolph Lundgren that transferred what was at the time one of the most successful toy lines of all time to the big screen, wasn’t as well received as anybody hoped. The modestly budgeted He-Man movie underperformed at the box office, and response was so lukewarm that it’s credited as one of the factors that toppled the Masters of the Universe toyline from absolute mastery of the boy’s action figure market to mere afterthought in the space of a year....

With Peril on Gorgon, the first major DLC expansion for The Outer Worlds, Obsidian Entertainment is leaning hard into film noir territory. Ubisoft has announced a delay for the upcoming The Settlers reboot, originally set to launch later this month. Styx: Shards of Darkness has a brand new gameplay trailer showcasing its drop-in, drop-out cooperative gameplay. At any time during the game the player can invite a friend to join the current session.
