The long-rumoured subscription service for YouTube will launch in the US on October 28 under the name YouTube Red, the streaming firm has announced. “YouTube Red lets you enjoy videos across all of YouTube without ads, while also letting you save videos to watch offline on your phone or tablet and play videos in the background, all for $9.99 a month,” explains Matt Leske, senior product manager. “Your membership extends across devices and anywhere you sign into YouTube, including our recently launched Gaming app and a brand new YouTube Music app we’re announcing today that will be available soon....

Sega has confirmed that Sonic and Tails will be appearing as unlockable characters in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania at launch. Sonic and Tails join the previously announced addition of Beat from Jet Set Radio. Like him, both the Blue Blur and the Two-tailed fox will be free and unlockable through normal gameplay at launch.
