Upcoming side scrolling beat-em-up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will welcome Splinter as a playable character. Publisher Dotemu has announced that the heroes in a half-shell’s mentor is the latest addition to the cast. He joins reporter and ally April O’Neil alongside our favourite foursome, complete with arsenal of Foot Clan kicking moves and trusty cane. You can check him out in action in the trailer below. Expect lovely looking pixel-art environments based on the 80’s cartoon version of the series....

The Evil Within’s final piece of DLC will let players take control of one of the game’s villains from a new first-person perspective when it launches later this month, Bethesda has announced. Available from May 26, The Executioner will let players “see the action through the eyes” of The Keeper (aka Boxhead) as they return to the Victoriano Estate to hack up enemies with a chainsaw, throw them into spike traps and cause havoc with a meat tenderiser....

Jackbox Games announced that The Jackbox Party Pack 7 is in development and will arrive on “major digital platforms” this fall (via Nintendo Life). Unfortunately, we don’t have much more information than that. However, given that The Jackbox Party Pack 6 was revealed in PAX East 2019, we might be getting news sooner than we think. We could also speculate as to the contents of this pack—Patently Stupid 2, Tee KO 2, Word Spud 2, anyone?...

During Square Enix’s E3 2018 showcase we got a suitably wonderful live-action trailer that morphed into what looks like in-game footage of a new game called The Quiet Man. The tagline ‘Silence rings loudest’ came up during the trailer, as well as the news that it’s coming to PlayStation 4 and PC. We’ll learn more about the game in August, apparently, but we didn’t get anything resembling a release date.

Whether it is in terms of appearance, personality, or action, characters like these hog the spotlight. When they are onscreen, you cannot take your eyes off them. In forming this list, I found that I was gravitating toward characters who lacked this kind of showmanship. Maybe the title of this article should have been ‘understated....

Sega’s much-loved beat-’em-up series Streets of Rage is officially returning with a brand new instalment, publisher Dotemu has announced. Streets of Rage 4 is being developed by Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games, and will be a full continuation of the gloriously 90-flavoured fighting franchise, which was last seen in 1994 on the Sega Mega Drive. Players are going to get a brand new storyline featuring returning heroes Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding (Axel has grown a beard while Blaze doesn’t seem to have aged at all) plus all-new gameplay mechanics, stages, and vibrant, hand-drawn visuals....

Taika Waititi has been tasked with launching Netflix’s animated Roald Dahl Universe – a gig that will manifest with TWO series adaptations based on the legendary author’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Netflix has tapped Waititi – who’s coming off a recent Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar win for JoJo Rabbit – to write, direct and executive-produce the two original shows, each of which will explore distinct sides of Dahl’s most famous literary offering, the two-time-movie-adapted 1964 novel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory....
