Sega released a new gameplay trailer for Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD, where players will jump, tilt, and roll (not off the edge, not off the EDGE!) to victory. Puzzles are the staple of the Monkey Ball series, but this remaster will introduce platforming elements and boss battles interspersed in more than 100 levels. Players can even compete worldwide for the fastest time, or wind down with party games like Monkey Snowboarding....

Let me start my review by saying I’m a big fan of fighting games, so naturally I love Capcom, the Street Fighter series and all that they do. Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition for the 3DS is generally a straight port of the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, with a few extra perks, most notably the 3D. The presentation on the game is amazing — it’s hard to imagine Super Street Fighter IV being on such a small device....

Supermassive Games, developer of Until Dawn and the ongoing The Dark Pictures anthology series, has seemingly trademarked a new logo and title for yet another undisclosed project. The news follows the discovery earlier this month of trademarked logos and titles for five future Dark Pictures projects, but this seems to be an entirely new game entitled The Quarry. The filing, spotted by @the_marmolade, was made with the European Union’s Intellectual Property Office for a game called The Quarry, where trademark filings for both the name of the game and a logo graphic were submitted last week....

It’s hard out there for a human-animal hybrid. Or at least that’s what we’ll likely discover with Netflix’s latest family-friendly offering. Netflix has commissioned Sweet Tooth, a series about a part deer, part boy based on characters from Vertigo/DC. Sweet Tooth will feature eight one-hour episodes and Netflix describes the setting as a “post-apocalyptic paradise.” The full logline for the series reads: “Sweet Tooth is the broad appeal, family-friendly, storybook adventure of Gus — part deer, part boy — who leaves his home in the forest to find the outside world ravaged by a cataclysmic event....

We had heard the rumours, but now developer Nightdive Studio has confirmed its System Shock remake heads our way this March. Huzzah! Sharing an update earlier today, Nightdive revealed the “scope and scale” of the project has “evolved dramatically” over the past few years. This, in part, is thanks to publisher Prime Matter joining the project. With this publisher on board, Nightdive Studios has been able to “focus on quality-of-life improvements, bug fixing, and localisation support”, things it calls “the last major steps towards releasing a game we’re all incredibly proud of”....

A demo has been released today for Mario Strikers: Battle League Football, Nintendo’s Mario-themed sports game. Online team battles are included, though you’re limited to set times to access next weekend. Nintendo also announced post-launch updates are on the way, which will include some - as yet unannounced - new characters. Online team battles allow you to team up with friends online to challenge others, with a maximum of four players per team across two consoles....

Final Fantasy is one of gaming’s longest-running franchises. It’s known for many things, including its memorable characters and wondrous settings, but if there’s one thing that transcends everything else, it’s the music. Legendary composers like Nobuo Uematsu have lent their talents to the series over the years, creating beautiful pieces of music to accompany every scene in the games. The music that Final Fantasy fans tend to hear most often, however, are the battle themes, which play every time enemies are encountered....

This list is pretty much what one would expect from the title. However, to make it more diverse we stretched the idea a bit by including detectives and agents as well. They are still police officers, but with more authority. We also made sure to not include any characters that existed first outside of video games. This means that Batman and Bigby from The Wolf Among Us, which is based on the Fables comic, are not on here....

The 100 fans, mark your calendars for July 8th. This is the broadcast date for the seventh season episode of The 100 that will act as a backdoor pilot for The 100 prequel series in development at The CW. A backdoor pilot is the industry term for when an episode of an already-existing TV show does double duty as a regular episode and a concept for a spin-off show. The episode and potential series will be set 97 years prior to the events of The 100, shortly after the nuclear apocalypse that ended most life on Earth and sent a portion of humanity into space to wait out the nuclear fallout for the next century....

Over the past six seasons seasons, the characters of The 100 have been forced to make many sacrifices and difficult choices to survive. Clarke and the merry band of juvenile delinquents that were originally sent to the ground with her have fought everything from dangerous Grounders and radioactive Mountain Men to prison ship escapees and one another. They’ve lived through nuclear disaster, committed mass murder, spent over a century in space looking for a new home and battled a cult of body snatchers pretending to be gods....

There are a lot of characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Whereas previous entries used Trophies as a means of honoring Nintendo’s history, they’ve finally been replaced with a new concept: Spirits. Spirits are equippable characters- typically made up of concept art- that can buff characters for World of Light, Spirit Board, and certain online modes. Nintendo has announced that Norse-flavoured adventure franchise The Banner Saga is coming to the Switch this year. The news was confirmed during the company’s recent Nindies Spring Showcase, with Stoic Games’ critically acclaimed Viking-’em-up rolling out on the Big N’s hybrid box ‘soon’ with Parts 1 & 2. The third instalment will arrive in the summer alongside the previously announced PC version, and is set to close out the series....

Starting July 30, Private Division and V1 Interactive are hosting a Disintegration free weekend event to show off the new game. However, the announcement is a bit sudden, given the fact that the first-person shooter launched just last month. Perhaps it’s what players need, though, to give the game a chance. Disintegration released in June to generally favorable reviews, though our Steven Wong felt it had its fair share of faults and merits....

Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 featuring some cross Psycho Mantis cosplayers, A CUDDLY TOY (whey!), and some gritty VO about the game’s Dark Zone. A standout part of the original Tom Clancy’s The Division, the PvP Dark Zone returns in the sequel, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, and brings with it some new elements like uncontaminated loot, as well as the expected backstabbing. There are three Dark Zones in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, each accomadating 12 players at a time....

343 Industries and Paramount have announced a second season of their Halo TV series has already been greenlit. Both companies announced the news last night over on the Halo Waypoint. Despite the fact the first season is yet to broadcast, a second is already a go on streaming service Paramount+. While not fully confirmed, Natascha McElhone, Jen Taylor and Pablo Schreiber seem locked to reprise their roles of Dr Halsey, Cortana and Master Chief respectively....
