Ninty has released a new costume for Super Mario Odyssey, this time allowing the plucky plumber to strap on a racing outfit. The Racing Helmet and Racing Outfit don’t come cheap, though. The former will require you to cough up 3,000 coins, while the latter sets you back 5,000 coins. Dataminers have already discovered that Super Mario Odyssey has a number of unreleased costumes waiting in the wings, so expect more fresh clobber in the coming months....

Nioh 2’s open beta recently concluded with a game-wide survey that asked players how they did on a simple scale. They could rate each aspect of the game positively, negatively, or “average”, which we suppose means “no opinion” or “it’s fine.” Overall, players gave Nioh 2 an 83% positive score, while only 6% of players thought that the game was negative....

A new report from Game Informer that examine the rise and fall of Telltale Games has prompted a response from studio co-founder and former CEO Kevin Bruner who says that the company’s crunch culture (which often required developers to work an incredible number of hours ahead of a game’s release) was an unfortunate necessity caused by the studio’s position and lack of other resources. “For other studios, it happens all the time in games where, ‘Our release date is this fall’ and then the studio will announce that fall, ‘Oh you know what, the game wasn’t ready, we pushed it out until next spring....
