blitzOne of Nintendo’s most recognizable titles, Super Monkey Ball, is back with a brand new game - well not technically new - and it went to Twitter to get suggestions from fans. Banana Blitz was released for Wii in 2006, but the game is being remade for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The official date is set for an October 29th release in North America and Europe and an October 31st release in Japan....
Nothing like an unexpected acquisition to catch your attention. It’s been announced that Tapulous, the mobile gaming startup behind Tap Tap Revenge and it’s other iterations of the title, has been acquired by none other than Disney (they also acquired that little company known as Marvel not long ago too). Bart Decrem, founder of Tapulous, confirmed the announcement in a post on the Tapulous blog. Erick Schonfeld from Tech Crunch spoke with Decrem on the phone, clarifying the acquisition details....
Former Fnatic jungler Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen has been signed to Team Liquid’s League of Legends roster, the organization announced yesterday. The Danish player will be replacing Jake “Xmithie” Puchero, who was released from the team earlier this week. This will be Broxah’s first venture into the North American region. The Gifted Episode 10 It’s a blessing and a strength for The Giftedthat they can have a seemingly insubstantial episode that’s still entertaining enough, and in snippets, moves the season’s plot forward pretty substantially. Ultimately what we get from “eXploited” is a reminder: telepaths, especially the ones who are clones of Emma Frost, are shady people who shouldn’t be trusted. Esme’s been a bad seed for a few episodes now....
An interesting mechanic in Fallout 4 is the ability to assist the Minutemen in reclaiming the Wasteland via the creation of settlements for other wastelanders to live in. With enough elbow grease, players can carve out a mini-empire in the Commonwealth that will provide a steady supply of caps, supplies, items to buy, and even military assistance in battle. It’s one of the best base-building games ever. Among all of the settlements that are obtainable in the game, there are some that rise to the top in terms of what they can offer the player....
As a general rule, I don’t care much for tower defense games. The Last Friend is a combination tower defense and beat ’em up, set on multiple lanes like Guardian Heroes or Streets of Fury. Well, those are just beat ’em ups, but you get the point. I didn’t expect to get much out of the game and, while it’s often too easy and I wish it had some options for tough post-game play, I got a lot of enjoyment out of this one....
Microsoft has confirmed that production of the original Xbox One has been stopped. Speaking to Glixel, an un-named Microsoft spokesperson said that, ‘As is typical for the console industry, we stopped manufacturing the original Xbox One when we introduced Xbox One S.’ This news follows on from previous reports that original Xbox One consoles were no longer available to buy from the Microsoft UK online store, so the official confirmation isn’t a huge surprise....

Event comics usually come with a passel of one-off tie ins. Sometimes they’re very good. Sometimes they’re a way of giving someone a try out. Sometimes they’re a way of getting somebody work. These are all good things! But very rarely are they ever impactful on a character or the direction of a line. That may change this week, as Mark Russell and Scott Godlewski bring the Riddler into Year of the Villain with one of the most introspective superhero comics in a while, one that potentially foreshadows a big status quo change for one of Batman’s oldest villains....

Sunset Overdrive, one of the Xbox One’s main early showcase games, is officially coming to Windows 10. It’s only been about a week since we last saw signs that the post-apocalyptic city crawler would soon come to PC. That turned out to be correct, as Insomniac officially announced it today with the release of a PC launch trailer....
