Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 has bumped Devil May Cry 5 off the summit of the UK all format chart, but launch sales for the action-RPG are down significantly in comparison to its predecessor. According to Chart-Track data (via GI.biz), The Division 2 could only drum up 20 percent of what the original game achieved three years ago, although that’s physical sales only. As always, digital copies are not tracked, so it’s likely that The Division 2 performed well in this respect....

Geoff Keighley, the creator, producer, and host of the annual The Game Awards event, has responded to accusations that he has a conflict of interest in this year’s show. Keighley, who has close relationships with many notable gaming industry figures, is being questioned regarding his role in Hideo Kojima’s new game Death Stranding. Death Stranding is also nominated for several different award categories at The Game Awards 2019. This connection between Keighley and Kojima is being scrutinized....

TV channel Dave has announced its show Dara O’Briain’s Go 8 Bit, returning for its second series on May 15, is getting a spin-off called Go 8 Bit DLC. The second show will be hosted by Go 8 Bit’s games expert Ellie Gibson, and will air immediately after the regular episode of Go 8 Bit. It’s format will be a kind of review show, with debates and conversations on the history of gaming....

Naughty Dog has released a new trailer for The Last of Us Part 2 that focuses on the game’s story but also includes a few brief glimpses of fresh gameplay footage. The trailer picks up roughly where The Last of Us left off. In fact, it’s easy enough to assume that some of the early footage we see with Ellie and Joel will take place relatively early in the sequel. For the most part, though, this new trailer lacks a formal chronological structure....

PS4 Pro launches next week (yeah, it really is that soon), and in preparation developers have begun rolling out patches designed to take advantage of the new hardware. The Last of Us Remastered, Infamous: Second Son and Helldivers have all been updated with PS4 Pro patches, with Naughty Dog’s classic action-survival horror updated to run at native 4K/30fps. Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds only just released at the end of October, but it quickly became one of the biggest video game hits of 2019. With December 12 being The Game Awards–in which The Outer Worlds had several nominations–Obsidian posted to its forums to thank fans for their support, and in doing so also dropped some information about upcoming DLC. At this year’s Game Awards, The Outer Worlds scored nominations for Best Narrative, Best Performance (Ashly Burch ), Best RPG, and Game of the Year....
