Every so often, Nintendo will do a short online stream, showcasing its lineup of upcoming titles. Nintendo’s latest stream, an Indie World Showcase, went live on March 17, ringing in a few new announcements for the year. Oftentimes, the games revealed during the showcase also have a PC counterpart releasing. That was the case for Morphie’s Law Remorphed, and now, it’s the same with Cyanide & Happiness – Freakpocalypse. It was during the show that the dark-humored comic revealed its latest gaming adaptation would now be launching on PC via Steam....

This spoiler-free review is based on viewing the first six episodes of The Expanse season four. This in spite of the fact that many main characters from earlier seasons, including Bobbie, Drummer, and Avasarala are separated from the other principals by quite a distance for most of the season. The writers had to get extremely creative (especially with Bobbie’s story) to keep some of these fan favourite personalities and their tangential arcs relevant to the overall narrative....

PS4 gamers waiting for their first HDR experience since the 4.00 firmware update can now see what all the fuss is about. Square Enix has updated Deus Ex: Mankind Divided to support HDR visuals on both PS4 and Xbox One S. There’s also support for PS4 Pro, though the upgraded visuals can’t be tested until the new console launches next month. PS4 Pro enhancements include an increased resolution, reduced aliasing, improvements to reflective surfaces, more detailed lighting effects and with no compromise to the frame rate....

It wouldn’t be a Fortnite update if its loyal fans didn’t complain about it, would it? Here’s the latest on what has got the game’s players seething. Complaints about Fortnite updates are coming so frequently that we might as well make it a weekly feature here at TheGamer. For the majority of Season X, the complaints have been about the addition of B.R.U.T.E.s. These are giant, player-controlled mechs that are so overpowered that you might as well drop your controller and go grab yourself a drink if you’re faced with one....

2019 was a big year for Pokémon GO, arguably the biggest since the game launched in 2016. However, the developers at Niantic aren’t sitting around congratulating each other on a great year. Trade evolutions, a long-standing mechanic of Pokémon games throughout the years, has finally landed in Pokémon GO....

There’s another Lego game coming this year. Warner Bros has announced that The Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game will be out this Autumn, and may have one of the longest names of any release in 2017. Well… they didn’t say that. I’m saying that last bit. This will be the third Lego game this year after Lego Worlds, and Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2, and will tie-in with the movie, obviously enough....

The Star Wars article contains spoilers for The Mandalorian. The Mandalorian episode 5, titled “The Gunslinger,” is a thrill ride from start to finish. Like last week’s “Sanctuary,” this episode takes a more standalone, slice-of-life approach to the storytelling, with only hints of the larger arc at work. Today, it was revealed that SuperMassive’s latest horror game, The Quarry, is getting some exciting new downloadable content. From now until Nov. 1, 2022, you can now get some free cosmetic DLC that lets you dress up the cast of the game in some pretty fly outfits. If you miss out on this limited-time offer, you’ll have to pay $5 to get these threads. The DLC was announced in a tongue-in-cheek trailer on 2K Games’ official YouTube account, which perfectly parodies teen horror flicks of the era....

The Sims 4’s long-awaited customisable pronouns feature has finally arrived - albeit in English only to begin with - and is available now as part of the game’s latest update. Developer Maxis confirmed it was investigating ways to introduce expanded pronoun options to The Sims 4 last May - following a community petition signed by more than 22,000 people - and players got a first look at the feature’s progress during a livestream earlier this year....

Though the upcoming animated Super Mario Bros Movie may be some months away, the rumour mill is already grinding on reports of a Donkey Kong spin-off. That’s according to movie website Giant Freakin Robot, as spotted by Video Games Chronicle. They’re citing “trusted and proven inside sources” as claiming that Seth Rogen has signed on for a solo Donkey Kong movie at Illumination. There’s not much in the way of additional detail....

After playing the legitimate face of the Dumani crime family in Sky One’s ultra-violent hit Gangs of London, Paapa Essiedu is back on screen in his second buzzy role of 2020. BBC/HBO’s I May Destroy You is an accessible series about a challenging subject – consent and recovery from sexual assault. Inspired by real experiences, the 12-part drama created by Michaela Coel is currently airing on BBC One on Monday and Tuesday nights....

That curious little area within Inkopolis Square wasn’t just for show, as it would later host Splatoon 2’s retro, action-packed Octo Expansion. For $19.99, this DLC includes bonus story content, a new race of characters to play with, new weapons and armor, and a multitude of challenging and fun levels to sink your tentacles into. Compared to Splatoon 2’s normal story mode, the Octo Expansion’s difficulty is substantially higher, serving as a decent challenge for seasoned Splatoon players....

After the Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable last week, it was understandable that Capcom made no big news announcements for Street Fighter V. All through last week, speedrunning enthusiasts had a whole host of electrifying, mind-boggling runs to enjoy thanks to the Summer Games Done Quick charity marathon. As previously mentioned, this particular marathon marked the first time the Games Done Quick organizers held an in-person SGDQ event since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic over two years ago. This decision gave the event a great deal of significance. And judging by the total donation numbers, it seems to have paid off....
