The Final Fantasy VII Remake demo is live and has given many players around the world the chance to experience the game for the first time. The long-time fans of Final Fantasy VII have been wondering if Final Fantasy VII Remake will reference the Final Fantasy VII spin-off books, games, and movies that have been released over the years, or whether it will create its own canon. The demo for the game has confirmed that the events of at least two of the games happened, in the form of the Buster Sword’s significance matching its appearance in Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- and referencing the actions of the original version of AVALANCHE from Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII-....

Judgment launched on PC alongside its sequel just last week to the joy of many. And now its first update has gone live, bringing with it some fixes as well as support for AMD’s FSR 2.1. Judgment‘s PC port was already pretty impressive, but with FSR 2.1 it should be that little bit better. It’s also worth noting that Lost Judgment also received an FSR 2.1 update. For those who don’t know, Fidelity FX Super Resolution (FSR) is AMD’s version of image upscaling....

Fans of The Legend of Heroes series of RPGs no doubt already know about Trails into Reverie. This game serves as the latest in The Legend of Heroes’ Trails subseries and the third latest in The Legend of Heroes franchise overall. Japanese fans have already had plenty of time to enjoy The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie, as the game saw a Japanese release back in August 2020. But now, according to publisher NIS America, it won’t take too long before Western fans can join in on the fun....

Injustice: Gods Among Us and Injustice 2 are old news by this point. Even for the latter game, the DLC well has dried up and we’re simply waiting for NetherRealm Studios’ next Mortal Kombat game to pop up. Even though interest in the game has moved on, the comic prequel is still being released on a weekly basis and is still making the top ten in digital sales. But I’m getting ahead of myself....

Being able to romance an NPC is one of the features players are always eager to take advantage of in a video game because it allows for them to further connect with that particular character and start a relationship that can last all the way through the game. In games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, romance is taken one step further by allowing players to marry companions. However, in the latest action RPG, The Outer Worlds, players will not have the opportunity to romance their companions whatsoever....

Autoplay in gaming is a weird concept; while it may seem to some that players are actively looking for ways to get around actual gameplay, those in the know relish the ability to grind with little to no input needed. Dark Lovecraft-inspired adventure The Sinking City has been surprise-launched by Frogwares on Xbox Series X|S from today. As with the recent PlayStation 5 release, this upgraded version includes 4K resolution and 60FPS support, upgraded lighting and textures, improved loading times and additional quests in the form of the Merciful Madness DLC included with the Deluxe Version. Alas, if you’re an owner of the original Xbox One version, you won’t be getting a free upgrade via Smart Delivery due to the ongoing legal fight between Frogwares and the game’s original publisher Nacon in which the former accused the latter of hacking and pirating the game, a move that Nacon called “unjustified” a day later....

That Tropico 6 trailer leak from yesterday turned out to be totally legit. The teaser has now been published on the official YouTube of Tropico developer Kalypso Media. Looks like Tropico 6 is indeed set for a release some time in 2018. The video description says ‘In times of political turmoil and social unrest, the people are calling out for a visionary leader,’ and there’s a reference to a wall being built and Britain leaving the European Union....

Cypher is an observer agent in Valorant, which is designed to control the movement of enemy fighters on the map. He has several interesting gadgets with which he finds out about the location of the enemy. This agent is good because if he manages to activate his gadget, the whole team will be notified about the location of this or that enemy, even in the event of the death of Cypher himself....

Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) is over for another year, netting a staggering $3,018,320.49 with donations still coming in - that’s almost £2.5 million. In all, the event showcased 134 different speedruns with games such as Left 4 Dead 2, Super Mario World, Portal 2, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, to name but a few - and racked up over 42,000 individual donations. Summer Games Done Quick returned this summer with more charity speedruning attempts and an in-person event to complement its online component for the first time in two years in Bloomington, Minnesota....

Nintendo has announced that Super Mario 3D All-Stars will recieve an update in November that will include the option to allow players to invert their camera controls. Making the announcement via the official Super Mario Twitter account, the company confirmed that the option will be available in all three games in the collection including Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy. The update is currently scheduled to land for the game on November 17....

Last Oasis‘s journey to Early Access was delayed last year after some community feedback. Developer Donkey Crew wanted to ensure that the game reached a certain “level of quality” before it was released. But now, the team has announced that its woodpunk-inspired nomadic survival MMO will be ready to set out into the world of Steam Early Access on March 26. This original take on survival MMOs will see you roaming a narrow band of livable space on the dying Earth in a bid to gather resources and stay alive....

Original PlayStation classic Syphon Filter will get trophy support when it arrives on the new PlayStation Plus next month. Bend Studio confirmed the news via its Twitter account – as spotted by our friends at PlayStation Trophies. The team also confirmed that the game will even have its own Platinum trophy to earn as well. Perfect for completionists or trophy hunters in general. It’s certainly interesting to note – given the game of course originally launched in the days before Trophies were even a thing....

Tactics Ogre Reborn producer Hiroaki Kato didn’t consider the HD-2D style for the remake, despite its use in this year’s Triangle Strategy and Live A Live. Speaking to IGN, Kato admitted he likes the style but the 2D pixel art of the original has been retained instead. “No, we didn’t think about making it HD-2D,” he said. “We kind of played with the idea of making it 3D, but what we were really thinking about was, ‘What are the major parts about this game that are really appealing to everybody?...

Two gaming giants have come head-to-head with Take-Two Interactive acquiring the mobile giant Zynga for $12.7 million. Despite the fact that you can’t play Farmville on PC anymore without jumping through some hoops (curse you, Facebook!), that’s still a huge property to take over. While I’m pretty anti-Farmville myself, Zynga has still taken over my life in ways I haven’t already realized. Words With Friends is a Zynga game? Now that’s just a plain shock....

WB Games has unleashed a tidal wave of news today regarding its upcoming platform fighter. MultiVersus, which sees the likes of Bugs Bunny clobbering Wonder Woman, will have an Open Beta this July. This comes following the news of a Closed Alpha, which begins in just a few days. We also got the lowdown on some new characters. Taz, Velma, and The Iron Giant will throw down as part of the MultiVersus roster....

A press release regarding a new Batman: The Telltale Series edition was published and then withdrawn last week. Athlon Games published the press release (via Gematsu), which detailed the new version of the popular Telltale Batman series, and then withdrew it. It described a “sinister new look” for the game—“a noir-style” redesign. For players who already own the series, the new “Shadows Mode” can be bought for $5 and added onto the game....

The last decade has seen a number of awesome games for the PS4. Game developers across the board have really stepped up their game to deliver exciting titles with great storylines, fun game play, and rich content that can often take months to fully experience and appreciate. There have been incredible RPGs, action adventures, horror games, and some of the best open world titles ever created. In fact many of these games have gone on to be labeled some of the best games ever created....
