Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s search for someone to play the female companion for the next Yakuza game is over, with the winner being announced as one Eri Kamataki. The studio made the announcement, as promised, at an event in Japan and via Twitter, after a public audition process that kicked off back in April after the next title in the Yakuza series was announced to be in development. She’ll star alongside main character Ichiban Kasuga and also picks up a cool one million yen in prize money....

A launch trailer for The Witcher 3 expansion Blood and Wine has been released by developer CD Projekt. Titled “Final Quest” the trailer shows off Toussaint, a remote land untouched by war. Geralt must unravel the horrifying secret behind a beast terrorizing the kingdom. Blood and Wine promises a 30+ hour adventure filled with unexpected twists, romance and deceit. Blood and Wine releases on May 31 priced £14.39 and is included in the £19....

Necrobarista, a visual novel about coffee and cadavers, has gone gold. Necrobarista is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. Watch the gameplay trailer below. Nintendo has confirmed details on the first paid DLC for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, with Persona 5’s Joker joining an already-massive roster for the crossover fighting game. There’s no firm release date for the content yet, with the Big N simply confirming Joker will show up at some point in 2019. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is receiving five DLC packs in total, the lineup of which has already been decided. One thing’s for sure – Ronald McDonald is not one of them....

PS4’s twin-stick shooter Super Stardust Ultra is coming to PlayStation VR, along with a brand new first-person mode. Super Stardust Ultra VR includes all the “traditional” top-down modes fully playable in PS VR, plus the brand new ‘Invasion Zone’, which straps players into the cockpit of a plasma cannon-equipped ship and tasks them with blasting waves of enemies attacking from all sides. “This new mode designed specifically for VR is played in a first person cockpit view, where you take control of a ship armed with the advanced weaponry typical of Stardust: plasma cannons, missiles, EMPs and an Inertial Disruptor,” says Sony....

Bandai Namco has announced a crossover for two of its 2021 RPGs as both Tales of Arise and Scarlet Nexus get some free crossover DLC. Tales of Arise players will be able to claim Myoho Murasama Replica, which is a new weapon for Alphen based on Scarlet Nexus. They’ll also get an additional attachment and new battle background music based on that game. On the other side of the jump, Scarlet Nexus players will get a new Blazing Sword for Yurito....
