Super Mario Run has achieved more than 78 million downloads since its launch on December 15 for iOS devices, Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima is reported to have said during this morning’s financial briefing.

Bloomberg’s Yuji Nakamura has been posting the key info on Twitter.

The five per cent conversion means that approximately four million people have paid to unlock the full game – currently priced £7.99/$9.99.

Nintendo had previously confirmed 40 million downloads in just four days.
