Here’s where to find Fomu and how you can evolve one into Wiplump.

There are some Temtem that are extremely rare, with some tamers going their entire Temtem journeys without ever seeing one. Fomu is not one of those Temtem. Fomu is an extremely common Water-type Temtem that you can barely avoid stepping on, and that’s saying something considering you can only find them in the water.

Like most base-evolution Temtem, Fomu is adorable. It’s a little water unicorn with a cute smile, a horn for a nose, and little steam jets that it uses to propel itself through the water. It’s also a great Water-type Temtem that eventually evolves into Wiplump, a dual Water/Wind-type with some great stats.

Where To Find Fomu

Both Fomu and Wiplump can be found on the Island of Deniz at various locations. Fomu can be found in the Sillaro River, Windward Fort, and Aquamarine Caves at lower levels (from around level 9 to level 15), while Wiplump can be found at The Gifted Bridges as well as Sillaro River and Aquamarine Caves. They’re all fairly common, so you shouldn’t have any difficulty finding one after a few battles.

How To Evolve Fomu Into Wiplump

Fomu evolves into Wiplump after it levels up 20 times. Since you can capture a Fomu as low as level 9, that means you could theoretically get a Wiplump at level 29.

What Can Fomu And Wiplump Do In Battle

Fomu is a pretty decent Water-type Temtem for the game’s early stages. As a Water-type, it’s strong against Fire, Earth, and Digital-types, but weak against Nature, Electric, and Toxic Temtem. It also takes half damage from other Water-types.

Fomu has pretty good Special Attack and Special Defense and decent Stamina but has weak Speed, HP, and Attack. It also doesn’t learn a single new Water technique after level 9’s Ice Cubes, which can limit its early usefulness. You’ll definitely want to use some Technique Courses where possible and evolve it into Wiplump as soon as you can.

Fomu’s two Traits are Amphibian and Hydrologist. Amphibian increases Fomu’s Speed by one stage after getting hit by a Water technique, but the clear winner is Hydrologist, which increases the power of all of Fomu’s Water techniques by 15%. Hydrologist will keep Fomu’s limited technique pool competitive until it can evolve into Wiplump, so aim to find one with Hydrologist.

After evolving into Wiplump, it gains the Wind typing which makes it 4x weak to Electric moves but also takes 1/4 the damage from Earth techniques. It also gives Wiplump both a strength and weakness to Toxic moves, so keep that in mind during battle.

Wiplumps new Traits make it a great Special Attack sweeper or a late-game brawler, depending on which one it gets. Plethoric increases Wiplumps Speed by 30% when it has full HP, which means it’s very likely to get in with the first attack. Patient restores Wiplump’s Stamina by 10% after using a Hold technique, which can help Wiplump use it’s most powerful moves over and over as a battle wears on.

Both Traits are perfectly viable and cater to a tamer’s specific tastes. Wiplump is a great addition to any Temtem squad, so don’t let it’s ubiquity trick you into thinking it’s bad.
