Back when Nintendo released newer portable models of the Nintendo Switch in September 2019, the new consoles came in three different colors: yellow, gray, and turquoise. Now, the company has expanded by introducing a new color called coral, and it is available for preorder right now.
Just like the previous models of the Nintendo Switch Lite, the coral-colored one will cost $200 USD and as expected, will perform the same functions and abilities like the other Nintendo Switch Lite consoles. The new colored console is perfect for those who generally prefer the pinkish color, or for those who prefer the color to the other available colors.
Before one makes the decision to preorder the new Nintendo Switch Lite console, its important to mention a few key differences between the system and the original Nintendo Switch console. First, the Nintendo Switch Lite is $100 dollars cheaper than the original console, and as such, comes with fewer features. For instance, the Nintendo Switch Lite cannot be docked, meaning that it can only be used in handheld mode.
Another important difference is that the handheld version does not have detachable Joy-Cons. Those who wish to play certain games like Ring Fit Adventure will have to purchase separate Joy-Cons as a result. Additionally, the Nintendo Switch Lite does not have a kickstand, so investing in an accessory that does provide such feature can prove to be beneficial.
Although the Nintendo Switch Lite has less features than the original Nintendo Switch, it does make up for it with its size and D-pad. The handheld version is smaller than the original Nintendo Switch, thus making handheld mode a smoother experience. On top of that, the D-pad (which the original Nintendo Switch does not have unless one buys a controller) is very helpful when playing on the go, or playing games that rely on the D-pad.
