What features are included in THEA500 Mini?

Inspired by the 16-bit Commodore personal computer, THEA500 Mini console features emulation of the original A500 (OCS) chipset and the Advanced Graphics Architecture (AGA) of the A1200. That means it can run accurately run games from the Amigas 500, 600 and 1200 era. The retro-styled unit will also have the ability to side-load your own games via USB with WHDLoad support.

It sports the typical features you’d find in most mini consoles these days, including a save and resume functionality, 50Hz and 60Hz screen refresh options in 720p HD, a CRT filter and a number of scaling options.

The A500 Mini comes with both the classic 2-button mouse and a new 8-button precision gamepad. And since the keyboard on the A500 Mini is tiny and unusable, you can plug in a standard USB PC keyboard for alternative functionality.

Digital Foundry’s A500 Mini review described the console as “a great intro to the world of Commodore Amiga”. Be sure to check out Audi’s detailed review if you’re still undecided on whether to buy one.
