The Animal Crossing Music Chrome extension can now sync to your local weather, which adds charm and immerses you in the adorable world of Animal Crossing while you’re working, studying, or browsing the internet!
This nifty Chrome extension enables you to listen to songs from the Animal Crossing series soundtracks depending on your local time and now your local weather, just as the games do. All you need to do is download the extension, enter your zipcode and country, and the music will automatically sync to your local weather as long as your have the live weather option selected.
You have the option to also pick the game soundtrack your hourly music will play from or randomize it to add a little spice to your hour. Also, if it is rainy via your local weather and you’d rather it be something else, you can decide to change your music to reflect sunny or snowy weather or you can randomize the weather for a little more chaos in your day.
The extension also lets you play up to 90 tracks from K.K. Slider’s discography, and you can change whether they play from 8pm-12am on Saturdays (just like the games), at all hours of the day, or not at all.
In the Animal Crossing games, the changing of the hour is notably marked with your unique town tune. In the Animal Crossing Music extension, you can set your own personal town tune to play during the transition between the hours of your day. Note: My town tune (shown below) is Toss a Coin to Your Witcher, thanks to this Reddit post.
Best of all, with Chrome’s new extension update, you have more control over the music that plays on tabs in your browser. Animal Crossing Music has used this to its advantage, displaying the song, the hour, the weather, and the game (and its cover art) in which the music is pulled from. If you already have Spotify downloaded onto your desktop, all of these features will appear as though you were listening to a song on Spotify.
