Assassin’s Creed, the upcoming movie based on the on-hiatus video game franchise, will be getting a companion virtual reality experience, Ubisoft, Fox and VR company Practical Magic have announced.

Assassin’s Creed VR Experience was announced on stage at GDC last night, but the publisher also put out the following tweet:

Eurogamer says the experience – not a game – includes scenes filmed alongside the movie.

In Assassin’s Creed Michael Fassbender stars as Aguilar, a new Assassin created specifically for the film, and new modern day counterpart Callum Lynch who discovers his connection to the 15th century Assassin via his genetic memories. The action will take place in 15th century Spain.
