What started out as a Pokemon Fire Red ROM hack on 4chan has since exploded into Pokemon Clover, a game that many believe to be the best fan-made Pokemon game of all time. Containing 386 ridiculous fakemon, many of the features are prominent in the mainline games, and some unique Pokemon type combinationsare included, so it’s certainly an interesting title if nothing else.

If you’re looking to build a strong team of Pokemon in Pokemon Clover, then you’ll want to keep an eye out for these powerhouses, as they boast some of the best raw stats in the entire game. Many of the Pokemon on this list are legendary, though not all are obtainable without using the wild Pokemon modifier exploit in the current version of the game.

Updated September 3, 2021 by Tom Bowen: Since its emergence back in 2014, Pokemon Clover has continued to grow in popularity. Many still consider it to be one of the best Pokemon ROM hacks ever made, and whether or not one agrees with that sentiment, it’s difficult to argue that the team behind the project haven’t given it their all. There is a ridiculous amount of content crammed into Pokemon Clover, including 386 unique and well-designed Pokemon. Those looking to build a strong team and complete the game’s many challenges should be on the lookout for the following, as together, they are generally considered to be the most powerful Pokemon in the Clover Pokedex.

15 Scytill

Scytill is one of the Legendary Steel Trio and is a Steel/Ghost-type Pokemon. Its 600 base stat total makes it one of the most powerful Pokemon in the game, but it’s in the Speed department that Scytill really stands out. With a base stat of 150, few Pokemon are faster.

In order to catch one, you’ll need to make your way to the top of Skeletower after engaging with Foryu. It can be a tough battle, but is definitely worth the effort due to the Pokemon’s devastating learnset. It’s thought to have been inspired by Don Quixote and is said to only appear before those who are ready to die.

14 Chromox

Chromox’s stats may be a little low when compared to some of the other Pokemon found in Pokemon Clover, but it more than makes up for this with its excellent selection of attacking moves. It also has a fantastic Special Attack stat and is faster than most other Pokemon in the game.

It’s at its best when taught moves like Eruption, Flash Cannon, Thunderbolt, and Dazzling Gleam and can outspeed most of its foes when equipped with a pair of Choice Specs. It also boasts a fantastic design, which, like its name, is based on the Chrome and Firefox browsers.

13 Foryu

Foryu is another member of the Legendary Steel Trio and can be found at the top of Blacksmith Manor. Its Steel/Fighting type combination can make it incredibly difficult to deal with, as too can its Magnet Pull ability.

Though nowhere near as fast as Scytill, Foryu has the edge over its fellow Legendary when it comes to both Physical Attack and Defense. This makes it incredibly bulky and great for dealing with hard-hitting Pokemon. It’s also inspired by Bane from the Dark Knight Rises, which is pretty cool in and of itself.

12 NotRidley

NotRidley is a great example of the humor found throughout Pokemon Clover. Clearly designed on the long-running Metroid antagonist, Ridley, the Pokemon is every bit as powerful as its not-namesake and is definitely worth adding to your team if every you get the chance.

It can be encountered at the Crashed UFO after speaking to the conspiracy theorist and pressing the control panel buttons in sequence from one to ten. Its 622 base stat total and solid learnset make it incredibly difficult to overcome, but those looking for a solid Dragon-Flying-type for their team will struggle to find a better one.

11 Regirode

Much like the mainline Pokemon games, Pokemon Clover also has its own trio of Legendary “Regi” Pokemon. They’re all pretty good thanks to their 580 base stat totals, but the pick of the bunch is definitely Regirode, which is a Rock/Ghost-type Pokemon.

Thanks to its Ghost typing and 150 Special Defense stat, Regirode is one of the most durable Pokemon in the game. Defense isn’t all that the Pokemon has going for it though, with its fantastic learnset and 125 Special Attack stat ensuring that it can pack a punch just as well as it can take one.

10 Heliofug

Heliofug is a Dragon/Fire Legendary Pokemon that is not currently obtainable in the game without using the wild Pokemon modifier exploit. Its typing makes it a great Pokemon to use against Fire and Grass types, but Ground, Rock, and Dragon may present a problem due to its type weaknesses.

It has great Attack and Special Attack stats, though its other stats are a bit on the low side. Heliofug is great against slower Pokemon or if it’s had its own speed stats boosted a bit, though it’ll remain a glass cannon on account of its low defenses. It also gives 4 EVs when defeated in battle.

9 Baddon

Baddon is a pure Dragon Legendary that is only encountered after defeating the Elite Four. It will be inside the basement in your home, which is unlocked after defeating the game. In that respect, it’s a little similar to accessing Mewtwo in Pokemon Red & Blue.

Its typing is a bit of a liability as it’ll be weak to Ice, Dragon, and Fairy while only having some resistance to Fire, Water, Grass, and Electric. It does boast strong Defense and Attack stats, but with abysmal Speed and underwhelming HP, it’ll need some strong allies to survive. That being said, it can still cause some mayhem with moves like Draco Meteor and Dildo Cannon (yes you read that right).

8 Endranther

Endranther is a Poison-type powerhouse that can be obtained in the Rotting Pit in Fochun. Its typing makes it resistant to Fighting, Poison, Bug, Grass, and Fairy-type attacks, but Ground and Psychic will be particularly dangerous. It has very balanced and strong stats, with a high attack making it a physical brawler.

The idea is to inflict poison using a move like Cross Poison, keep the enemy bonus stats zeroed out with Clear Smog, and then restore health while attacking using Decay Drain while poison saps the other Pokemon’s health. This is therefore a very strong Pokemon that you really should consider having on your team.

7 Vivaiger

Vivaiger is an Electric-type Legendary that is part of the Energy Duo alongside Endranther, though it is not obtainable in the game without an exploit. It shares almost identical stats to Endranther, the exception being that it has a strong Special Attack and a bit more Physical Defense. Its typing makes it strong against Flying, Steel, and fellow Electrics, and weak to only Ground.

It’s a powerful sweeper that uses Overenergize to lower an opponent’s Special Attack, Charge Beam to raise its own special attack, and then locks them down with paralyze using Discharge before blasting the paralyzed opponent with Thunderbolt. If you can get it to level 100, Zap Cannon will deal incredible damage and guarantee a paralyze every hit.

6 Jewipede

Jewipede is a Bug/Normal Legendary that’s found in the Animango City Game Corner after the player purchases the Cellar Key. It has a strong balance of HP, Defense, and Special Attack making it a great wall. Its typing makes it immune to Ghost, resistant to Ground and Grass, and weak to Flying, Rock, and Fire.

Jewipede has a variety of moves to stall, wall, and recover effectively. Fake Out is great for causing Flinch, Wrap for annoying stall tactics, Bug Buzz can drop an opponent’s Special Defense, and Leech Life is great for regenerating health. At higher levels, it also gains access to Giga Impact and Megahorn for some brutal attacks.

5 Demiwaifu

Demiwaifu is a Fairy Legendary found in the Crystalline Cavern. It’s immune to Dragon-types, has resistances to Fighting, Bug, and Dark-types, with weaknesses only to Poison and Steel. It has a great balance of stats too, with good Speed and HP and great Special Defense and Special Attack. As a result, it’s a great special sweeper.

Charming Cry is a great 100% accuracy move, Dazzling Gleam and Moonblast are solid attacks, and Drain Kiss will recover 75% of the damage it deals as HP. At level 95 It learns Lactose Shot which deals amazing damage and lowers the enemy’s Special Attack.

4 Adesign

Adesign is a Legendary Pokemon with ??? typing and isn’t obtainable in the game, though it will be in the upcoming release and is already available through the exploit or a glitch. It has perfectly balanced stats with no resistances or immunities to any typing making it great for fighting just about anything in the game.

An Attack is its only learned attack and deals great damage. If you get Adesign to a tutor though it can also learn Meme, which deals mediocre damage but raises every one of its stats. It can also learn any TM or HM in the game making it an incredibly versatile Pokemon. Absolutely have this on your team and use it for whatever role you want it to fill.

3 Griffawork

Griffawork is a Psychic/Flying Legendary found in a hidden room in the Futaba Chambers. Its typing is a liability as it makes it weak to Rock, Ghost, Electric, Ice, and Dark, but it is immune to Ground, strong against Fighting, and has resistances to Grass and Psychic. It has great stats in Special Defense, Special Attack, HP, and decent speed, making it a great special brawler/sweeper.

When given a combination of Flying and Psychic attacks like Aeroblast for flinch or Psychic to potentially lower Special stats, Griffawork can be incredibly effective. At high levels, Hurricane is a great Flying attack and Psycho Boost is an excellent pick for a Psychic attack.

2 Boarnograf

Boarnograf is part of the Legendary Duo with Griffawork and is a Dark/Ground type. It too is found in the Futaba Chambers and has great HP, Attack, and Defense making it a physical brawler. Its typing makes it weak to Fighting, Bug, Water, Grass, Ice, and Fairy, though this type combination is useful as it makes it immune to Electric and Psychic and resistant to Poison, Rock, and Ghost.

Straightforward attacks like Payback, Drill Run, Sucker Punch, and Earthquake are definitely the way to go when it comes to setting up a Boarnograf at low levels. At high levels, Punishment raises its damage with each stat boost that the enemy has, and S**tpost serves a surprisingly powerful thrashing attack.

1 Clovenix

By far the strongest Pokemon in Pokemon Clover is the mascot Clovenix, an interesting Grass/Fire-type, a combo not used in the regular games. Its typing makes it great against Grass, Steel, Electric, and Fairy-types, though it is weak to Flying, Poison, and Rock. It has blazing Speed and good Special Attack, HP, and Attack, making it an excellent sweeper.

Energy Ball is great as it can lower Special Defense, and is best followed up with elemental attacks that cause status effects like Flamethrower and Flare Blitz. At higher levels, you’ll want Futaba Break which removes Light Screen and Reflect while affecting the target’s Ability and Sacred Fire for a 50% chance to inflict Burn while also dealing great damage.
