Sony is continuing its drip-feed of information regarding the PlayStation 5, as the upcoming console finally has its own website.
Sony has revealed tidbits about the PlayStation 5 over the past six months, including details about the controller for the system, but there is still a great deal we don’t know about the console. Microsoft has been revealing a lot of information about the Xbox Series X, yet Sony seems content to let the fans stew amidst numerous leaks and speculative forum posts.
The official PlayStation website now has a page dedicated to the PlayStation 5, but there isn’t much information on there just yet. The page has the logo, a message saying “PlayStation 5 is coming” and the loose release date. It’s also possible to sign up for email updates about the PlayStation 5, along with a message stating that Sony isn’t quite ready to reveal everything about the system just yet.
Sony has already announced that it won’t be present at E3 2020, so fans are wondering when the company will reveal more information about the PlayStation 5. As of the time of writing, we still don’t know the specs for the system, the price, or any games that are coming to the console outside of Godfall. There have been a ton of rumors regarding the capabilities of the system and its potential for backward compatibility with older PlayStation games, but nothing has been confirmed by Sony itself at his point.

The fact that Sony now has an official website for the PlayStation 5 suggests that the company will be ready to reveal more information about the system soon. It remains to be seen when and where Sony will officially unveil the PlayStation 5 to the world, but the clock is ticking and Microsoft has already taken the initiative, so the promotion for the system will have to start soon, especially if Sony wants people to start pre-ordering the PlayStation 5 in preparation for the next great console war this Christmas.
The PlayStation 5 will be released during the 2020 holiday season.
