Stardew Valley’s 1.4 update is now available on Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Console gamers, it’s time to get farming!
ConcernedApe, everyone’s favorite ape who moonlights as an indie developer, has once again given the gift of a massive Stardew Valley update. While Update 1.4 came to PC gamers last month, this time it’s the console players that get some love.
Update 1.4 has now arrived on consoles, bringing with it a whole slew of new features, bug fixes, optimizations, and more. Multiplayer has never been better on Stardew with the updates made, including the new Four Corners farm map that allows 4 players to play on 4 separate farms with the option of having separate banks.
However, of course, that’s not all. There’s also a new tailoring system to make your own clothes, including 181 new shirts, 35 new hats, 14 new pants, and two new boots. You can get a new hairstyle, gain a new best friend in the form of six different breeds of cat or dog (three for each), and explore over 60 new items.
If you ever wanted to be a fish farmer, now’s the time. The new Fish Pond structure is available that will allow you to farm various aquatic life forms and harvest the things they produce. This mostly turns out to be fish eggs, but on occasion, they’ll produce rare materials and even send you on a fishy quest once in a while.
More monsters in the mines, more stuff to build at the Blacksmith, and 14 brand new music tracks round out the update’s offerings. That said, there are way more changes to go through, which you can read for yourself on the official Stardew website.
There’s still no word on the next patch, which ConcernedApe said was going to iron out the bugs that cropped up on the PC release. Hopefully, those same bugs won’t appear on the console version. Standardized hardware and software tend to make those bugs few and far between, but you never know.
Mobile Stardew players will have to wait a bit longer for 1.4 to come out. ConcernedApe answered a mobile gamer’s Tweet to say that the update won’t arrive on mobile until January.
