In The Witcher Geralt is generally a no-nonsense witcher that is set in his ways. His life consists of killing monsters and earning money, which he prefers to all the political drama happening in the world around him. It’s no surprise that Geralt often finds himself annoyed on adventures as he just doesn’t like putting up with other people or creatures’ antics. We do know that you can travel to other dimensions in the Witcher’s universe, as made apparent by Ciri. With this knowledge, we couldn’t help but think about the game worlds that Geralt would hate to find himself in. Below are ten game worlds that we fully believe The White Wolf would hate.
10 Portal
One of the things Geralt repeatedly states his distaste for in the series are portals. He believes they aren’t as safe as they’re made out to be and would rather avoid them whenever possible. We can only imagine the anger that would seethe through Geralt’s body if he was teleported into the world of Portal, where he would be forced to use a portal gun to make his way through puzzles.
We imagine the Witcher would also be pretty annoyed with GLaDOS, who would surely antagonize him during his stay.
9 Pokémon
It’s fun to imagine and debate what Pokémon Geralt would want on his team, but we doubt he’d actually enjoy becoming a trainer. Geralt doesn’t seem to like to socialize with random people and would likely find trainers battles annoying.
Not only would battles drive him crazy, but dealing with Team Rocket would be especially hard for Geralt as we feal, he would just be tempted to burn them with igni. We have a heavy feeling that Geralt would either become an unbeatable gym leader or jailed for taking down an innocent Gengar.
8 Skyrim
While Geralt would feel slightly more comfortable in Skyrim than other games, we think he’d be fed up with dragons rather fast. If you’ve ever played Skyrim, then you know that dragon after dragon can spawn on top of you just on a short walk. Geralt already doesn’t like having to fight dragons, so we can only imagine he’d quickly be fed up with their antics.
To top it all off, Skyrim is rather unfriendly towards anyone who uses magic, so the witcher would likely be shunned by the people.
7 Kingdom Hearts
There are several things in the world that just don’t mix, like Geralt being forced to save Elsa. Geralt in the world of Kingdom Hearts would be nothing short of comical. The witcher would find himself frustrated by overzealous characters, Sora’s recklessness, and the horde of heartless that he would quickly become tired of slaying. Even worse, Geralt would be subjected to Atlantis, and it’s sing-alongs sooner or later.
The only part he would even possibly enjoy is hanging out at Hollow Bastion. Even then, we think that Donald and Goofy’s personalities would likely drive him insane.
6 Devil May Cry
Geralt likes hunting monsters and has handled several at once. Geralt doesn’t like fighting back to back hordes while putting up with snarky demons. While we don’t think Geralt would kill Dante, Nero, or V, we do think he’d want to get away from them as soon as possible. The giant demon’s that he’d have to face would probably ware on his nerves even more as he’s not even getting paid.
Geralt would probably have more fun just hanging out in the van with Nico, at least while she isn’t driving into obstacles that could injure them both.
5 Grand Theft Auto
The world of Grand Theft Auto is full of crime, women, and money. While the money and crime aspect may be appealing to Geralt, the lifestyle probably wouldn’t do much for him. We’d even wager that he’d quickly become annoyed with the human world, especially after being forced to listen to the same songs on repeat. Geralt doesn’t appear to be much of a hustler either and would probably find himself broke pretty quickly.
We do wonder if Geralt would take to driving cars instead of riding his horse, maybe he’d be more comfortable in the world of Red Dead Redemption.
4 Doom
Geralt has seen some pretty stupid ideas in his lifetime, but harvesting materials from hell would probably surprise even him. The whole world of Doom is a recipe for disaster that Geralt would want no part in, not to mention he’d have to give up his sword for a gun to fight demons. Having to deal with hordes of monsters in his realm is enough, we doubt he’d be enticed with having to fight in the pits of hell.
If the heat didn’t drive Geralt up the wall, then the constant barrage of cacodemon’s and cyberdemons would surely drive him insane.
3 Stars Wars
The world of Star Wars has heavy political issues weighing it down. While we presume Geralt would be on the side of the force, he wouldn’t enjoy having to hang out with Jedis. We almost bet that he would want to find a planet and settle down there until all the fighting was over.
It’s also likely that Geralt would be annoyed about having to learn all of the dangerous alien species, not to mention the fact that he’d have to turn in his swords for a more powerful weapon like lightsabers.
2 Resident Evil
We think that Geralt wouldn’t like having a family meal with the Baker’s. While Geralt would likely cut them down with no problem, being stuck in a house full of strange technology wouldn’t be fun.
If Geralt happened to be teleported to Resident Evil 2’sworld, we think he’d be even more annoyed. Not only would he have to deal with cutting down zombie after zombie, but he’d have to find a way to maneuver through modern cities with little to no knowledge of the world.
1 Catherine
Catherine is a game world where men like Geralt get dragged into a nightmarish world while they sleep. We think Geralt would enjoy getting to know Catherine herself, but every time he would fall asleep, he would be thrown into a helpless situation where he had to deal with sheep. Not just any sheep, though, but shady sheep that are all concerned for themselves.
During the day, Geralt would also have to find a way not to be homeless in the streets of Japan. Finding a normal job would be a task in itself since he would have no identification on him.
