Over the weekend, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released way ahead of its planned May 19 street date at a retailer in the United Arab Emirates, leaving CD Projekt Red scampering to get streams shut down and gameplay footage taken offline.
Footage from both the PS4 and Xbox One versions has made it online, with VGLeaks currently embedding one video from each platform. How long this footage stays online remains to be seen.
Twitch has also warned users against streaming the game. “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is not allowed for broadcasting until May 19, 2015,” the firm tweeted. Broadcasting before this date is subject to DMCA guidelines.”
Meanwhile, CD Projekt Red is also locking all of its forum threads discussing the leak.
“Please, don’t discuss the contents of any leaked information you may find,” a mod explained. “If you see anyone posting information from the leak on the forum, remember to use the Report Post button and let us know.”
